h20 ifinder Question

Muskiebait

Question

If I run my IFinder without the chip, and then put the chip in it will it still have the trail lines? and if I Save way points without the chip will they show up when I insert the chip or do I have to do it all over again. I have the chip in my permanent 520c, and when I fish with somebody else in there boat I like to take my I finder but didn't transfer the chip so I was curious if the Waypoints would show up along with the trails travelled. Thanks.

Muskiebait, the way points and trails are saved on the GPS, not the chip.

You can transfer all your saved trails and way points from one GPS to the other very easily. I did this, and have the same 2 units as you.

I used the SD (or MCC) card from my digital camera and saved the files from my i-finder. Then I placed the SD card in my 520c and imported it. Worked great. Now that I think of it, I bet I could save the files on my computer as a backup?

Don't try to save anything to your Lake map chip though, you may lose that data!

I don't have my i-finder here or I would give you the how-to, but these units are so user friendly you can figure it out.

Post any questions you have here, as I know someone can help you out.

Hope that helps. wink.gif
