Anyone going to Vermilion soon?

My wife and I are once again heading out to Lake Vermilion for our annual eight-day vacation/fishing trip. (July 26th Thru Aug 3rd). We are staying at McKinely Park near Tower or Soudan. In the past, I have been lucky enough to meet other Fishingminnesota members while on this vacation. (Where are you Hawg-wobbler?) If anyone is going to be there during the same time frame, feel free to swing by and introduce yourselves! We are staying in site 62. I have a silver Alumacraft with a FishingMN sticker on the back and a red Ford Supercrew.

Just got back. Fishing sucked. All those fish stack up on the reefs and they cannot be caught. It's a night bite. I would suggest fishing all night and sleeping all day. Tons of pressure.

The night bite rocks, but 30 fish were caught in daylight last weekend during the Hartman Tournament. 10 were over 50". They can be caught.

it's amazing how every tournament puts up numbers like that on Vermilion yet every time I'm in my boat, someone else's boat, or a guide's boat all we do is find muskies that are terrified of our lures...I don't get it....

Are you up there the same week? Yeah, you got to love pressure on our lakes these days!!!!!! I was told that during the week the pressure on Vermilion is not too bad.

There is so many spots on Vermilion that it does not matter about the pressure!!! If you fished there 16 hours a day on the east end for a year you still wouldnt be able to cover every spot. If you stay away from the crowds you wont see as many fish but you will catch just as many if not more!!!!

Was up last week and fishing was marginal, was in the boat for one 32 incher, but thats it. Nice smallies though.
