Going to be sad to see him leave. He has been a class act all of his career. I can still see him wearing those god aweful colored uniforms they use to wear.

Any fan would have loved to have him on thier team. These are an approximations but his stats are 3000+ hits, 300 HR, 1200 RBI, 500 SB, .280 avg. He could bat anywhere in the order and play anywhere in the field and be effective.

If I had a vote for the HOF he would get it.

If I remember right, he started his career as a catcher...then moved to the outfield and eventually second base to prolong his career.

I have always loved to watch him play on the field. Very Class Player that baseball will miss him when he's done. Im pretty sure he wont be out of baseball, just playing it.

You'll never see another player spend his career with one team and get 3,000 hits. Too bad that Bags broke down and didn't achieve his HOF numbers, too.

Last night after he officially announced it to the crowd, he goes and hits a grand slam in the game... What a player. When my kids grow up and ask me who were the best players in my time, Kirby, Biggio, and Jeter will be at the top of the list, all three played the game the way it is supposed to be played. Full of heart, and NEVER take a play off.
