[YouNeedAuthorization],

Funny you should mention the Bare Naked color Reef Runner. UPS just dropped off a package of them today. The Model 200 & 400 Ripshad and the Model 500 & 600 Little Ripper and Deep Little Ripper. The Model 700 & 800 are on back order for now. frown.gif

I will be giving them a work out on Friday and Saturday and let you know what I think of them. They do resemble a pearl glass shad rap in outside color, but they have some special prismatic colors on the inside.

Oh yeah and my favorite Reef Runner colors. It's a tie between Tequila Sunrise and Red Headed Step Child. cool.gif

Yep. RR's are notorious for needing a tune-up right out of the box and is pretty much a given when using them. After you get them tuned they are a great lure. Some are buggers to tune, while others will go with just one or two adjustments. Rip Shads seem to be the worst of the bunch. Part of the fun of using Reef Runners! cool.gif

On thing rr did right was thier tuner it makes short work to run right. My colors are lake superior sunglasses and the blue and chrome. Inland copperhead and lemonade. But they do have many working colors. My wife ask me if all I have work. I if we could fish with 6 line each we might find out in a week.

Thanks so much for the info. I was just wondering if you have any luck with them last week? I suppose it depends upon who is in the boat fishing with them. Have a great day

It makes a huge difference who you have in the boat. Reading the rod tip is crucial to tell when a Reef Runner is running like it is suppose to. We spent most of Saturday trying to run over the top of weeds in 16ft of water. They would foul on a weed and quit vibrating the tip of the rod. So we did a lot of setting and resetting of lines, and when you have someone that cranks in like an old lady, well you know. tongue.gif

As for results on the Bare Naked, unconclusive. We actually had better luck on Dave's Kaboom Nitro Shiners.

Has anyone on here tried the lure from Cabela's that looks like a Reeef Runner? If so, how did they work?

I don't have any but some of the guys I fish with have some of the Cabelas version. We prefer Reef Runners. By now it's more of a confidence thing, the Cabelas baits don't get too much playing time any more.
