Northern Pike eyeing up dinner...

Spent the last week up at Timberbay Lodge on Birch Lake. Down by the marina there was a northern that swam around and they'd throw him a dead minnow from time to time. I snapped these photo's.

Don't see that very often!! Reminds me of a pike years ago we saw swimming with its head out of water and mouth open. Every time we got close, it'd go under...

That is a cool series. I am surprised that we dont hear more stories like the one out of the cities on Memorial Day when a young girl got bit by a big pike or ski swimming. Specially since they hang out so shallow all the time.
