i hate seeing huge deals made out of no-no's when the guy walks 4 batters. is it still an awesome game, yes. but 2 walks that i saw were full counts when a guy would have gone after the hitter instead of staying away to keep the no hitter alive. anybody else think this is overblown a little bit. i got excited when i saw a REPLAY of david cones perfect game and i knew it was a perfect game while i was watching it.

How can you not be inmpressed with a no hitter? Granted not a perfect game, but they are tough to come by. Not only do you have to have your best stuff, lots of things have to go your way. I'm impressed with all no-no's espescially in the big leagues when everything is in the hitters favor. Ok the 3-4 pitcher combined no hitter is a little much.

I think the umps should widen the strike zones. Get the batters to swing more. I want to see the game won or lost from the ball being in play, not because of walks. To many guys stand up there looking for the perfect pitch, and alot of times the umps will make the pictures throw one to get a strike.

In view of the fact that Verlander's no-hitter was just the sixth in the 100 year history of the Tigers I do not think it was overblown. Over analyzed and over covered? Yes, but so is everything else in this age of multiple 24 hour/day sports channels. I swear that those ESPN guys must be paid by the word. Old Sneller
