Scott M
No more Mike James as a T-wolf. The guy is megaoverpaid as is Howard, but at least the T wolves can create some room to give Foye more minutes and get some size, as well as getting Howard off the books a year earlier than James would be. It's sad that some trade assets have more value in today's NBA by sheer virtue of their contracts expiring. I mean, James was signed last summer and now we're happy to trade him for someone whose contract expires earlier. Don't get the idea that the wolves traded him for that reason; they've coveted Howard for a while, but signing a guy to dump him in a year doesn't make any sense to me but does anything McHale does make sense? maros91
It's a decent trade. James did nothing for us last year. Juwan will help on the boards next year. Like you said he is off the books a year earlier but not till after the 08/09 season. He has a player option for that year which I'm sure he will pick up. Decent trade. We still have six guards. Maybe we could move one more?

ozzie
This is a good deal....granted Juwan is not what he used to be it still drops a guard off the roster gives KG and actual legitimate big man presence to help down low......big roster improvement IMO even though it would have nicer to get him 3-5 years ago when his name first started coming up in rumors.......Drop another guard Jaric or Hudson or even Hassel and hopefully we get Brewer in the draft and we would have a nice little team with Foye-McCants-Brewer-KG-Howard.....with Smith and Blount on the bench with our left over guards......not overly ipressive but a start to an improvement!! so haaad
Wow, and McHale did it WITHOUT giving up a first round pick!!!
ozzie
that was the first comment I made when I heard the trade!!!
bgreen82
mchale says he isnt done yet too. ive heard a couple rumors. theres the 7th overall for zach randolph, which i dont want. and theres ricky davis and 7th overall to sacramento for artest and the 10th overall. that i would take in a heartbeat. and with the 10th overall there are still some good forwards that will be available. i doubt brewer will be but thorton from fsu or the C from wash. cant think of his name. we'd have a decent lineup then. foye, mccants, artest, k.g. blount i guess. ozzie
i am not sure on the Randolph trade depends on who is avail at 7th......not to high on the moody Artest...otherwise that trade sounds good...but Ron Artest is a pain and not sure if that would be good for the long run for our young guys!! Fishin Beast
Randolph for the 7th would be horrible. The Artest trade I would do only if it involed Ricky. Personality wise they are not much different and Artest has a lot more game.

beer batter
Quote:mchale says he isnt done yet too. That statement scares me a bit.I recall the interview with James on KFAN just prior to his signing and knew immediately the guy was a knob. Good riddence. This trade worked out well for both sides. As for the upcoming draft - what about the G-Town center (name escapes me)? I never hear his name mentioned in the top 10 which kind of puzzles me. Is he not going pro this year?
