Jr. leaving is supposed to be so devastating for DEI, but Truex is ahead of him in the points and has the only win for the team this year.

If Teresa is smart she'll get ol Martin signed up quick to be the leader of this team going forward.

Yeah. And now NASCAR will have to change the Chase again to try to accomodate JR so he makes the chase. They'll have to put the top 15 in it since he can't make the top 12 that they already changed for him! Way too much buzz about JR, especially since he hasn't won in well over a year. I'll probably get blasted for this, but can you say "overrated"?

Remember though Jr. lost 100 points because Tony Eury Jr. cheated. Those points put Jr. ahead of Martin and into the chase. Can't argue with you on the season wins though.

I would wager that before year end that Jr will end up ahead of Martin. Yes, Martin is having a good year and he is also a good driver. Jr has just had some bad luck and as Hoff#13 stated, the 100 point loss, hurt.

FYI, he'd be 10th if they wouldn't have taken 100 pts from him. So in reality you could say that he's got one of the best top 10 cars/teams if not for the penalty.

I know that "ifs" don't count, but just saying that he has been running well enough to be in the top 10 or 12 in the standings.

A lot can happen between now and the beginning of the chase, there is a lot of racing to be done yet. One other thing, Jr's contract isn't up until the end of the year as far as i know. Minds can change between now and then. Has anyone heard, is it for sure he is going to Gibbs? A lot of rumors seem to fly every weekend, just wondering which one will be true? Great job Truex!!!!!!
