UGUIDE
Any pheasant reports from Minnesota and/or Wisconsin? South Dakota is looking good both for pheasants and ducks. The moisture levels and potholes are higher than I have ever seen. Seeing lots of pheasant and ducks. What are the rest of you guys seeing across the region? fishin5
There are absolutely NO, Zero, Nada Pheasants in Lac Qui Parle County (And the hatch won't be any good either!)
Gofishleech
I was down by Huston and Rushford turkey hunting last week and we saw roster's every where we went. The cackling in the morning was nuts. Add that to the gobbling and this northern boy was impressed with the sounds of southern minnsota in the morning.

123fish
Lots of birds here in the far southwest corner. If it stays warm and dry at hatching time we will be just fine. Another year like the past two seasons would be just fine by me. Also had two different guys tell me they saw the first broods of young honkers today. One had six and the other one had seven. Excellent!
lawdog
ya we definitely lost some hens in that big storm, but not as many as I had originally feared and the roosters came through even stronger. Good, warm and relatively dry conditions for the next month or more and we'll be in fine shape for another good fall. Could be the last for a while though, lots of extra corn planted this year and we lost plenty of habitat around the country to accomodate it and less habitat can't carry as many birds for a long period. Blame it on $4 corn!!!
Dotch
Pheasant population is strong in this area of SC MN and no sign of major habitat loss at this point. Many of the real good core areas in the LeSueur watershed are in CREP and we're seeing the results. We have a rooster that spends most of his time in the backyard plum thicket and commences crowing at 5:15 AM. There were 4 hens with him a couple days ago. Lucky sucker! I thought that there were next to none left, but have been seeing many as of late. I hope its not to wet of a spring.
