not sure what its called its an electric drill with an alagator looking mouth on it, and the bottom jaw "chews" and pinchs, making the cut, works good, but like i said not sure what its called

The skill saw will work fine. You'll want to wear breathing protection as there will be lots of dust and the stuff is an irritant at best. Otherwise a utility knife with the score and snap appoach or the hand saw will work. It's much easier to work with than Durock.
