A R Johnson
I don't know much about the guy, he might be a great addition to the team, but don't you thing we have enough safeties on the team? Do you think they are setting up for a trade or something?
koonie
Before we signed Doss every mock had us taking Landry(safety.LSU). I think that we signed Doss so we can trade down several spots and pick up an extra pick from whomever we trade with. I think our team has too many needs for us to trade up because it would cost us too many picks. If we trade down 5 spots we can pick up an extra late second or third round pick. There are a lot of trade rumors going on right now with the Vikings. Some say we'll trade our pick to NE for their two first round picks. That way NE can get Landry and we can address the wr and db positions in the first round. Probably not going to happen though. Another rumor is trading with Buffalo and getting their first and second round picks. Buffalo is interested in AP. Will it happen? Only God knows. Nobody can predict the NFL draft. IFallsRon
Why wouldn't a guy want to return to a Super Bowl-winning team? Something's not right.
Muskycrazy
He had an ACL problem last year and missed a bunch of games , maybe him leaving wasn't an option . On the other hand , did anybody hear Sludge & Hawk interview B-Wade this morning . Sounds like a good guy and has his head in the right spot . Says he is a Hines Ward type of reciever . Was honest about his short commings , which is nice for a change . Lastly , won't Doss have to fight for a spot ?
Coach1310
They better be sure about Doss if this means they are trading down or passing on Landry. All accounts are this guy is one of the best safeties to come out in the past few years.
koonie
They signed Doss for one million for one year. It's probably just a competition thing because that's what Childress likes. It could just be a smokescreen or a move to get someone to trade up to our pick to get Landry. I wouldn't mind having Landry in purple.
james_walleye
You have Tank Williams coming back this year too. I dont think safety is one of the top 2 needs for this team.
bucketmouth64
Wonder if any of them might be tried at cornerback. I think our nickel and dime coverages should have some good players in the game with this kind of depth. One could play up on the line to cover the short stuff or blitz. jigging wader
I don't mind this pickup at all. Greg Blue, shoulder, Rondell Whitiker, arm, and Tank Williams knee .. still might have some problems. This is a move for depth, he held his starting job for 4 years before getting hurt last year. I hear he's a hard hitter, but could be a little better in pass coverage. Unless they guarenteed his contract,They could still cut him before the start of next season if his knee is too messed up still. nothing lost. so haaad
I personally like this move. Mike Doss was a beast when he played at THE Ohio State.
