Tonneau Covers

Jimmy from Cottage Grove

Question

I just purchased my first pick up. I am looking to get a tonneau cover for it. I have been looking around at them. There is so many makes and types. Does anyone have any prefference? I know there is vinyle and fiberglass. I like the looks of the fiberglass. Yet I need one that pops on and off pretty easy. Do the vinyle ones hold up very well? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I think this is a simple answer.

ACCESS COVER !!!!!!!

The one I have on my Sierra is over 4 years old and still looks and works like new. I love mine!

Need to use the bed? Roll it up. Cover the bed back up? Unroll it, snap the rear into place, velcro the sides shut.

I'm guessing lots of guys will comment on Access & Truxedo covers.

I do agree that a soft tonneu is the best choice for versatility. Most people have a truck so they can just chuck things into the back so they don't stink up or dirty the cab. Unless everything you plan on carrying is small enough to fit under a hard cover, you should get a soft cover. There are many out there and I know the choices are endless. I want one when I get a truck again, but even I don't know which one to get and I like to think I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to trucks and their toys.

If Hanson says the Access, then I would seriously consider that one.

I vote for the Access cover. I've had mine for two years and love it. Mine does have a latch you can slide over to lock it down but I had to buy an aftermarket tailgate latch ($50) to make it completely in accessible. I've only locked it a few times on cross country trips when the truck is sitting outside the motel and my tools are inside.

Access all the way....I would not buy anything different.

And, like mentioned above you can buy a tailgate lock to keep things more secure....or install a power lock on the tailgate to work with your main locks!!!

Another fan of the Access cover here. I've had mine for 2 and a half years on my truck and it looks and works like new. I bought mine on the internet and saved a lot compared to buying it local. Install is very easy too.
