David Carr, QB HOU

News: According to numerous sources, the Texans have released QB David Carr. He was expendable after the club traded for Falcons QB Matt Schaub. In five seasons, Carr threw for 13,391 yards, 59 touchdowns and 65 interceptions, and was sacked 249 times.

Analysis: Carr is expected to land on his feet somewhere, likely in a spot that will afford him the chance to at least compete for a starting job. He does have some great ability and was limited thanks in part to an awful O-line in Houston and a lack of a running game to complement his passing game. Expect him to be at least a No. 3 Fantasy QB in 2007.

I would like to see it. Can't hurt. at least he has some experience. If T-Jack needs a few years Carr could fill in for a year or two and maybe if he surprises longer. Not that our O-line is great, but Houston's was/is horrible.

Of course I also want the Vikes to get Drew Brees last year. But they didn't even make an attempt. I guess we didn't need HIM. Just goes to show how inept the front office in Eden Prarie is.

At this point i'd like too see it also. But i dont see any reason the vikings will sign him. There have been numerous people this offseason that could have helped this team and they havent brought a single one of them in yet.

Anyone else heard the rumor that the vikings might trade totally out of the first round of this draft too stockpile picks?? Getting rid of the #7 pick and getting totally out of the first round, that would fit right in with this offseason.

I read somewhere that the big chill did not like carr's mechanics in his throwing style. I have always liked Carr and as a die-hard viking fan, I wish we could have landed him. But I truly believe if Chilli's offense works at all T-Jack WILL be a pro-bowler in a couple years.

Dude, give me some of what you're smokin'!!! Don't get me wrong, I'm still a fan and will root for the Vikes. But at this point they are going to have to surprise me to put together a winning season.

BTW, what a bunch of bull about throwing mechanics etc. Rich Gannon won an MVP throwing the football side-arm. I am so sick of the NFL and thier combine results. Ohhh, this guy's arms are .5 inches longer, that guy can run 120 ft in .1 seconds faster without pads on (he can't run an actual route or catch a ball but...). How about evaluating actual talent. It used to be said that 90% of sports is from the neck up.

I just think Chilli is a little overconfident in his coaching abilities at this point.

I like T-Jack as well. I think he'll be able to extend some drives for the Vikes with his legs much like Daunte did when he was younger. Hopefully, if he's able to do this we will get a look at what this offense is supposed to be. 3rd and 5 this year will put opposing defenses in a whole different look this year as opposed to last. Johnson was absolutely zero threat to pull it down and take off. This year they will have to honor this threat and it should be fun to watch.

Don't forget that Chili has is all figured out. I think sometime is 2020 we will be set up to make a run!!! As far as I am concerned they are doing a poor job of selling me on a stadium. I don't think it should be based on if they are winning because sports are cyclical(especially with salary caps), but it seems they aren't even trying.

In my opinion, our O-Line is overrated, we need at least one corner, our LB's are average at best, who are our WR's??, oh that's right we have Dropsies Williamson(but he runs a 4.3) and can't forget Bobby Wade!! We could use a veteran QB if not to play, to help mentor TJack. I could keep going...but the Vikes aren't worth it.

One more thing...did anyone find it funny that Philadelphia was putting up record numbers last year before McNabb got hurt?? Maybe Chili wasn't as big a part of that as we thought!!

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
