Ok, ok, ok...
Here is the story of the magic of the Swiss Miss. There were three of us (Dave, Myself, and Flashman) fishing the MN that night when the river was on the rise (14.75ft at Jordan). We fished a rocky spot in the channel but the river was haulin'. After about an hour and a half of fast water, we decided to hit some snags downstream. My bait (6" bullie with clipped pectoral fins)was already hooked and playing in the livewell during the short trip downstream. After the anchors were set and the outboard motor only a few feet from the vertical vegetation covered bank I sent the wriggling offering into the dark and muddy waters.
It wasn't but a few short moments after I turned around to get my chair and evening libations set that a farmilliar undjulation from the boat did resonate to my feet. As I turned to see the source of the quiver, I was pleasantly greeted on that dark cloud filled night to a sight that I liked. My Catfish Classic rod had a beautiful arch to it's spine and the locked down reels drag was slow to give line. I grasped the cork handles and heaved with my might to be rewarded with a heavy pulling fight. He cut and he danced and gave it his all but the 85lb tuff line reeled them in like their small...
Well enough of the literary mumbo jumbo.
After I proceded to catch two flattys I revealed my 'secret weapon'. A small Swiss Miss doll that was given to my by one of my neices years ago that she got in a McDonalds happy meal. I then gave it to Dave who was sitting next to me and 3 min later he caught a channel cat. He then gave it to Flashman who caught his first ever Shovelnose sturgeon 15 min after he got the Swiss Miss. Then I got it back and caught another flatty. After 30min Dave catches a carp and Flashman asks where the Swiss Miss is located. Sure enough, Dave hands it over to Flashman. About 40 min later Flashman catches another sturgeon and hands her back to me. Then the excitement for the night occours.

Something was 'playing' with my bullie so I picked up the rod. When it started playing rough I set the hook. This fish had some weight! Unfortunately the Abu 6500C3 reel (recently purchased on HSOList) seized and wouldnt reel in. At this point it was sort of an all play as chairs were moved out of the way and the fish was brought in hand over hand. It happen to be the #25 Flatty in the pic below. Bottom line for the night, 'No Swiss Miss, no fish-fish'. She has served me well in the past in many situations afeild in persuit of fish, fowl, and other game.

I keep better track of her than my pipe & pipe pouch that I got in Spain and is currently in Flashmans care. That little lady gave me some luck this weekend also when I was out on Lake Michigan (Algoma). We had two boats, 8 guys, one full day, and 38 fish (36 kings & 2 Steelhead).
She is available for weddings, birthdays, and bahmitsfas for a nominal fee. However if the woman you're persuing sees that you carry a small doll named 'Swiss Miss', no amount of luck will get you lucky wink.gif

Yes, the power of the Swiss Miss was definately working that night. Matt, I brought your mold back last weekend, we'll have to get together sometime and pass little Swiss Miss back and forth out on the river.

rushing, that means I'll hafta whip out my Jar Jar Binks and while waiting for a bite, move his arms up and down so he keeps sticking his tongue out. Think that'll help me out?

lmao rob boba fett.. you must really not be catching anything. went to browns creek last night and nothing over 10 pounds.

and your right about the skeeters there real thick out there.

maybe youll have better luck up the new ulm way sat.

ROFL. Now if I could just figure out where my girlfriend's son put Jar Jar.

Maybe I should have taken Jar Jar with me yesterday when I tried at Coon Rapids Dam.
