6x8 portable, how much wind?

Just wondering how much wind will my 6x8 portable handle before I start bending or breaking stuff? (its a clam 6800)

What kind is it? Im guessing it will blow across the ice before it breaks or rips this year.

I dont think you have to worry. Anchor it down and you will be fine. I have been out in some serious winds and never ripped or broke anything in my Frabils, Clams or the Otter I have now.

I suppose a cheaply made brand may be different but any of the more popular brands will be ok.

Anchor it and set it up so 1 door is facing the wind. I have a 6800 and have not had a problem. if the wind is realy bad make sure someone stays in it, but nothing should bend or break.

I can tell you from experience it is at about 35 mph. That is when the wind catches the open door on a wood suitcase house during setup and puffs up like a sail, drags you across the bare ice reaching 30mph in about a half second and dumps you into the wheeler. And that's when the poles break. Other wise I never had a problem in over ten years.

I dented the wheeler with my head but it was still driveable.

Yeah, they will blow you away before they start breaking. I took a ride when I was younger with a heater by my lap and a bluegill in my hand. Think the gills eyes were larger than mine. But that was around the 30mph mark too. Anchor it down and you're golden.
