Otter - Rod Holders

Are the Otter Rod Holders easily removeable? I would like to get a couple rod holders for my Lodge. It is unclear on the Otter HSOforum if the holders clip on to a mounted bracked or if you have to unscrew them to remove them.

Yes. They are easily removable.

The ones I have in my shack have a mounting bracket which bolts to the support plate holding the tent poles for the shack. The rod holder sits in a couple holes in this bracket. A big thumbscrew tightens the rod holder down. You just have to loosen the thumbscrew and you can take the rod holder right out.

You'll like them! One of the best accessories out there for a portable shack.

I really like mine because if you screw up drilling a hole a little bit the rod holders allow you to swivel and extend the rod in all kinds of directions. I like them for tieing knots etc. Just toss it in the holder and point it towards you and your golden. Works great as a deadstick holder too. Like Hanson says its one of my favorite house mods. Actually the only mod.

I love mine - mounted in a Fishtrap Yukon. Kind of hesitated at the price at first, but well worth it. I've got 2 set-up on each side - sweet!
