3pronghook
These were two of the first shots I took with the 100mm macro. Hand held in the flowers.
Steve Foss
Dang! Fine composition on No. 2. Handheld, eh? Good work. Share your techs with us if it's OK with you.

mcary
Can't say I've ever been a fan of Box Elder bugs, but I definitely like the one in the second image. Very nice composition. I'm looking into a purchasing a macro (hopefully in the not too distant future). Would love to see more of your results.
Steve Foss
Sorry prong. I meant your technical readings, not your technique. Your technique obviously is working nicely. The "techs" help others see what can be achieved at various iso, aperature and shutter speed settings with various cameras. So that's what I was looking for, as in Canon 20D, Canon 100 macro, iso, shutter, aperature . . . Sorry for using a piece of photospeak shorthand there. 3pronghook
No problem, f2.8; 1/100 100mm. about 10:30 am. Nice to have this info stored. I remember having to write this info down in a notebook during my film days.

Jim Almquist
Great shots. Really like the orange in #2 on the bug and flower. Thanks for sharing.
Swimmer
3prong: nice shots. Macro sure is fun, hah? I envy the true macro lens you are using. At this point, I'm forced to use a 1:2.8 telephoto that says MACRO on the lens. Oh, and Kenko tubes, where you are about 4mm from the subject. Still, a lot of fun and some of them even turn out (but not as nice as these).
