harvey lee
That should make for some good competition for Cabelas.Might be good for the sportsman. It will be ok for the people in the metro but wont do much good for the rest of the state.
Daze Off
While the two retailers share a lot of product in common, Cabela's is much more oriented toward walleye, pike, trout, and northern waters while BPS is WAY more heavily focused on bass, crappie and southern/midwest waters. In that sense they compliment one another. The site they are proposing would be equivalent in size to 2 of the new Roger's Cabela's and equal in size to their headquarters in Sprinfield, MO. Their stores are generally organized by lure type rather than manufacturer - at least the one's I have been in - a whole aisle of plastic worms by all manufacturers, another aisle of tubes, another of creature baits, etc. Daze Off
Down Deep
BPS also has some attractions within. In late Oct. I was in thier store in Clarksville IN, just across the Ohio River from Louisville, KY. They had a hunting safari, Nascar interactive video, golf and casting booths. The Nascar was fun they skinned me for about $50 on that one. With BPS coming it will make Cabelas, Gander, etc. try harder which is all the better for us. TeddyBoy
300,000 SF of heaven. I can't wait! Unfortunately for my wallet I work less than 1 mile from there...Still can't wait.
metrojoe
I've ordered a number of things from them online. Great online selection of fishing tackle. I'm still not crazy about the location. I'm not a mall person, and I'm definitely not an MOA person.(I get nauseas just thinking about it ) I go once a year around the holidays. We take the light rail from my brother-in-laws place in downtown Mpls. Now that I think about it that might be a good thing. Probably save me a little ching. JohnMickish
Don't get your hopes up to high yet, the city of Bloomington still has to pass 200 million in tax incentives before anything starts getting built.

The_Duckslayer
I guess if the Lil Mrs makes me go along to the MOA that would be a good place to go hang out till she is done. Other than that I will head south to Cabelas and Fleet Farm in Oh Whatta Town. Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo
LMITOUT
The Bloomington City Council has given preliminary approval to plans for Phase II. Final approval must still come from the council.
