hitthebricks
Is their anything I should do to the livewells when I use the boat at this time of year? HTB
0 Deitz Dittrich
just make sure when you take the boat out that all the water is out of the livewell AND PUMP.. its the pump your worried about, not the livewell. If you have water in the pump itsself, which can be hard to tell you will break it.. I like to sometimes run a little earth friendly antifreeze through them(not into the lake abviouly.. just into a bucket which I can then properly dispose. 0 Surface Tension
Good advice as always Diezt. That RV anti freeze will displace any water in the outlet line that might have a dip in it where water collects.
0 Valv
You can dump some RV antifreeze (pink stuff) into drains until it exits rear of boat, and as Diets said run through the pumps. Be sure to activate the valves, to have recirculation working also. Anything with water pockest inside will freeze and possibly crack hoses/housings etc.
0 hitthebricks
Sounds like good advice! Do I need to do that every time I pull the boat out of the water even if I don't use the live wells HTB
0 Deitz Dittrich
on ounce of pervention..water can back its way through the hoses at time.. it surly isn't going to hurt you to do it?
0 Swimmer
I think I read in a different post that some guys just blast a shot of compressed air through the system. Me, I don't worry about it and haven't had to replace one in atleast 10 yrs.
