Verizon Cell phone hunting / fishing related software application

I just wanted to share with everyone that I use a really nice cell phone software application that is really handy for hunting and fishing. It is called Weather Scout,by Gander Mountain, and when you dial into the software application with your cell phone you can view...

Radar

Forecast with wind speed, direction, etc

Weather Map

Baro Map

Fish and Game Forecast

and IR Clouds

It was a one time download for I think 5 dollars that is well worth it. I am not sure if only Verizon cell phone users can use it or not, but again this software application is very handy...

Any others out there using similar cell phone applications? I also must admit that I have played World poker tour online in my deer stand when the mid day action was really slow! That can be fun when you are bored to death in the stand and you are trying to stick in the stand during that 10-noon slot....

yep I have the same thing on my phone only my carrier is RCC. It is kinda handy to have to see the weather forecast, radar and that kind of stuff. I have also been guilty of playing games on stand when I get bored. But I figure it is better than me getting ansy and moving around looking at everything. I also have Fox Sports Mobile so I can keep track of my Fantasy Football Players while out hunting. What a technology, but I do feel a little guilty at times sitting out there playing with my phone.

I use My-Cast and I think it was probably one of my best purchases this year.

Nothing can beat watching radar real time on the water.

I was looking at the Verizon web site for the Weather Scout. It states that there is a $5.95 monthly subscription. I would get it if it was a one time fee. Are you sure it is a one time fee?

One time "download", not fee

The one thing nice about the subscription, is that you can cancel it for the months you don't need it.

My phone says "You will be charged $5.49 monthly for this app. Proceed?" when I choose Weather Scout (Verizon).

I assume from this that you pay $5.49 every month on your bill plus are charged for airtime whenever you use it.
