scooter409s
has any one heard if any of the lakes up north are iced over yet? I'm sure its a dumb question, I'm just getting a little anties to try the new pole out, I'm allredy fishing in the fish tank with it, not to catch fish but so I can see how my jigs work in water, of course. no pet fish were harmed. But it doesnt hurt to ask,if any one has any feed back I like to hear it
Northlander
Mid fifties and rain today so Im sure whatever ice we had isnt more than skim. Usually around Thanksgiving week. Keep a eye on the Duluth forum and you will know as soon as I do. Im usually the 1st or one of the first ones out up here.

DEADhead
a couple of the lakes in town had a couple of inches from last week. After a week of above freezing temps, including mid 60's and wind and rain. They just about all opened back up again today. now we're back to square one. It'd be a safe bet that there should be fishable ice around thanksgiving. Cool temps forcasted through next week should start making ice again. Surface Tension
We had ice till the rain and warm temps. Lakes are cooled down nicely so once the temps drop again it'll be making ice.
schweady
Apparently, we've found a way to move the ice fishing discussion "TO THE TOP!"
let it snow
Pelican Lake (at Orr) was froze over until warm temps and wind took it out yesterday. Much cooler today (28). Looks like cooler temps are here to stay. Hoping for good ice on all our area lakes. LIS
