8-Ball
I just heard on Sids show that Silva is starting today. Are you kidding? We want this stiff on the mound in the most important game of the season, with home field advantage for the playoffs in the mix if we win and Tigers lose? ARGHH! I can't believe it. Please don't do it, Gardy! He is the last guy on the pitching staff who should be out there, period. He is horse*%$#@!
harvey lee
Ditto.Gardy wants to rest Santana to start the first game of the play-offs.If we lost the division,we play NY it looks like.We will only have to win a 5 game series verses a 7 game series later.I would think the 5 game series would benifit Mn. 8-Ball
Yep- I was wrong and man enough to admit it. I still don't think he deserves a spot in the postseason pitching staff. You never know which pitcher is going to show up, and especially in the playoffs, you need to put a starter out there who is in control of his game. More than half the time, Silva is not. I would rather have Perkins or Baker take the mound over Silva. 2 good starts, three bad ones, one good one, 4 bad ones- whatever it is, not consistent enough to take the mound as a starter in the postseason, bottom line IMO. not_nuf_time
One thing to remember about sinker ball pitchers, is they say the less rest they get between games makes them more effective, cause the arm is a little tired therefore more of a drop. Wouldn't be surprised if he came back on short rest to start the third game. Yikes.
