Mille Lacs this weekend

hey,

I am heading to Mille Lacs on Fri for the weekend. This will be my first time on the big pond. I haven't formulated a plan of attack yet but I figure that we will hit the SE corner and look for green weeds. If that doesn't produce then we will hit the rocks.... What do you guys think? Is that Part of the lake producing right now or Should we concentrate elsewhere? Any help is much appreciated. The weather is calling for rain on Fri and Sat but the temps are pretty steady and not much wind.

Thanks,

John

A couple weeks ago they were going pretty good on the north end yet, especially after sunset, but I haven't been up lately. Anyone tell us if that bite is still happening, or better to try elsewhere? I've done okay on Vineland this time of year too. Thanks for any advice.

we were up last weekend - pretty slow - friday night fished cove - moved one fish and she was very lazy. saturday spent the day up on the north end and it was the normal musky bumper boats up there. i think it went ranger ranger ranger stratos ranger ranger tuffy ranger ranger ranger...... we did move one nice fish and lost another. sunday (post vikings) pounded around outside of cove in the waves for awhile trying to fish rocks but that got old in a hurry.

myself - i am going to stick around the south end this coming weekend - vineland-cove-wahkon - there is still some green stuff around and plenty of rocks to check out.

We'er going up this week-end also...I think it's "We'er" it might be "Me"? I just have to get the boat out at least one more time before I put it to bed for the winter.

It's not a Mille Lacs boat, 16 feet 25 hp, but if I hang around the south end like I usually do, I should be fine. I'll certainly have a report, good or bad, on Sunday!

Yup, I gots a report....Muskies zip....walleyes zip (Got one big hog up to the boat) waves big and bodasious..Perch? The bite is kickin! Get there early cause the launches fill right up.

The fish we got were in 7' of water over the rocks. Lots of sorting, but it's fun! Fish up to 13 inches, nothing less then 10 inches.

Worms, minnows, artificals, everything works and some of those perch are whoppers! You can't miss where the bite is happening, just look for the floatilla of boats close to shore. Lots of fun and even with the sharp N.W. wind and big waves, it was a beautifull day to be one the lake...never had to put the jacket on once!

Gotta go clean some fish.
