Has anyone heard about Lund coming out with a fiber glass boat next spring?

I would be surprised if they did considering Ranger is under the same ownership and it would be somewhat like competing against themselves.

On the other hand, Ranger has essentially priced themselves so far from reality ($55k+?? get real!) that maybe they will bring a 'bargain priced' or entry level fiberglass boat to the market with the Lund name. I find that hard to believe though as they are not going to offer a comparable fiberglass boat less than aluminum, and if it has the Lund name it is already priced up there. I don't see the Lund fiberglass trailing the Ranger prices too far.

My bad. Didn't Brunswick buy the aluminum boat lines from Genmar (who owns Ranger)? How that all went down slipped my mind and thought they were still under the same corporate umbrella. Thanks for reminding me.

If that is the case, then it makes sense for Lund to attempt to compete with a fiberglass offering.

Unfortunately like I mentioned before, if it has the "Lund" name you can more than likely expect to pay $50k+ for their glass boat too.

Yes, Genmar has Ranger and either Skeeter or Triton (I cant remember exactly which one) while Brunswick now has Lund and Crestliner. I can see them dipping into the 'glass market, especially after seeing the increase in high dollar glass fishing boats running around here the last few years.

Brunswick has Triton as Blacksheep mentioned above.

Skeeter is owned by Yamaha. They also own G3.

After doing some poking around, it has been rumored that Lund will be using a Triton hull.

Maybe someone here who was at the dealer meeting on Monday can enlighten the readers??

Man a Lund with a Triton Hull! Man if that happens I may be buying a new boat. My two favorite boats in one. Too good to be true. Like said eralier I just hope they arent $50,000.

Genmar owns Ranger

Spring of 2007 The Ultimate Glass Boat, a Lund fiberglass boat with a hull and Interior built by Tritan but designed by Lund.

This will be VERY interesting. Ranger owns the glass market in the upper midwest with the 619/20/21 VS series, Reatas and the new 1860 Angler. Now I believe/read they(Genmar/Ranger) own Stratos. I'd guess they would probably sell Stratos as a price point boat to go after the first time glass owner and the potential aluminum boat buyer.

To me Lund is a day late and a dollar short on this deal. They've carved their market and made their bed with aluminum and Genmar IS glass and now selling glass boats in the mid-price range.
