Tippman
Does anyone have any suggestions for a good, reputable taxidermist to do a bear rug within an hour of the St. Cloud area? (Or near Aitkin or Park Rapids area-I hunt these areas often in the fall) Any comments would be appreciated,ThanksBrian

Code-Man
I'd recomend Toad Lake Taxadermy. He lives on Hwy 34 west of Osage out by obviously Toad Lake. He does great work his name is Mark Arnold. You will never regret going there.
Swamp Scooter
I had mine done by John Kosec (John's Taxidermy) Hastings. He is a master taxidermist and did a fantastic job. he has also done some geese and turkeys for myself and a friend. he can also take care of the skull. woodview
Wondering if anyone knows approximately how much it costs to have a rug done? Are they typically done in a manner that leaves them pliable/flexible or do they end up being harder/more brittle? just curious
Tippman
It sounds like they start at about $600 from what I've seen so far, they're not cheap. I don't know how flexible they are though once they're finished. Guess I'll find out.

Swamp Scooter
Yup you can fold them up just fine. The going rate is about $125 a linear foot, last time I checked.
