"That's life, that's what people say.

Riding high in April, shot down in May."

Or should it say riding high on Tuesday, shot down on Wednesday.

Hopefully this will be a wake up call to all the Twink fans that have really been crowing and just salivating waiting for Liriano to return.

A little shout out to Pier, "Is he really injured or is he just using it as an excuse for a poor performance like "Bobbi Jinx"? Not too funny when the shoe is on the other foot, eh, Pier?

Just a little payback from the baseball Gods to all you Twinkie fans who may have started the celebration dance at the 5 yard line and got the ball smacked out of your outstretched hand by some defensive back. You guys may end up getting to the dance but I would tread very carefully on the celebration dances. And YOU CAN PUT THAT ONE ON THE BOARD...YES! Windy

HUH?......a poor performance?.. bad anology.... never said it was funny just corrected your flawed data, your mocking a pitcher who is really hurt and can't pitch, BJ is pitching and has said he's OK...

Go Twinkies..... grin.gif

Where the heck is Jim been Windy? tell him we all said HI... grin.gif

And we all know that player's never lie about being hurt right, Pier? The guy saves 40 games this year, blows two all year, blows two in the same week as his velocity goes from 98-99-100+ down to 91 and you say he is not hurt? Right!

Too bad about Lirai-NO but all teams get injuries, the good ones play through them and I am sure the Twinks can play through this one too, just had to counteract the crowing out there in the land of 10,000 Lakes. Windy

I just have one stat I want to share with you that pertains to Liriano. Since he went out with his last injury Aug. 8th the Twins have lead the major leagues in ERA so they will find a way to play through it.

Actually since Liriano went out after that start in August, the Twins have gained 9 games in the standing on the Tigs.

I have confidence in our guys. Santana can win you two and if Radke comes back between him and Bonser we can take another one.

Play through injuries, are you kidding, thats what the Twins have done all year. Proving just how good they are. Hunter-out, Stewart-out, White-out, Lariano-out-out, Radke-out, how many more good players could you have out. Yet they're hanging in. With no excuses. These other teams in this division should be embarrassed that they couldn't pull away from the "make shift gang". Chisox moreso. blush.gif $.02

Not Nuf,

I never said the Twinks didn't have injuries and I have already been on record as saying the Sox have been the most injury free the past two year, but they do have some injuries to some of their key player at the worst time and they are playing through them. Crede (chronic back) Dye (back) Jenks (hip) all in the past two weeks. They have spent some time off but have not went on the DL. Seems like the collective collars are all getting a little tight up in Twinkie-ville at a time when you should be celebrating. The Kitties are the ones who should be sweating right now as the two clouds of dust keep getting closer and closer from the Twin Cities and The Windy City. As for the Sox..we already have the ring on the finger, this year is a bonus!

Buzz,

This was not directed at you, you have maintained a cool head while others around you were losing them. You know that one man does not make a team but others acted like they could get in line for Series tix today after Liria-NO pitched on Wednesday. Pier got under my skin a little by implying that Jenks was not injured when it is obvious he is. I just wanted to bring a little reality back to let everybody know that none of the three teams in this race are perfect and by no means are a lock to win the thing. It is, it has been and it will be an extremely close race with two of these three teams getting to the dance and one going home. Of course, I hope my team is not the one home before curfew and I expect the same from you guys. Windy

Don't be too hard on the wind bag buzz. He's down in the windy city and it's real weird there. I spent the absolute worst 2 years of my life in servitude there and I'm tellin ya, the air there does strange things to your mind. Example, it makes you proud to be Polish, and it makes you put green peppers on your hot dogs.......see what I mean? It's just plain weird there. On top of that the Sux are still a couple games out of even the wild card with absolutely no chance of getting into the post season. This is puttin a lot of stress on Wind bag.

Prolly why thd F.I.B.'s keep comming to Minnesota. Clean air and better baseball. grin.gif

Windy,

We sure missed you yesterday. It is good to see things getting better for you. Your Sox won and you got your computer fixed. (Sarcasm really starts here) I am sure it was killing you yesterday that you could not discuss the Sox spanking, Jenks loss and the Twinks comeback with us. But thank God you got you PC fixed in time to discuss Garcia's gem and the Twins misfortunes of yesterday.

twins loss + white sox win = post by windy

I thought most of us figured that out already

windy in all kidding aside, I know you mean no harm. If anything we are all getting to watch great baseball and a I hope its a sprint to the finish with the best team coming out on top.

The spin and logic you have really leaves me scratching my head sometimes though.

I still like our team better than the Sox this year.

Our lineup, although low-paid and unrecognized, is leading the league in team batting average. The middle of the lineup with 3. Mauer-batting leader, 4. Cuddyer - 100 rbi, 25hr guy, 5. Morneau - possible MVP, and 6. Hunter 25 hr, 80 rbis, has some punch.

Even through injuries this team has shown resiliance. We will be there at the end. The last series should be a good one. I actually think it will be for the division title, not the WC.

You won't have to worry 'bout no Muslims Buzz.

Got this one a coupla days ago and likes it:

>Subject: playing with cowboys

Three strangers strike up a conversation in the airport passenger lounge in Midland, Texas, awaiting their flights. One is an American Indian passing through from Lame Deer. Another is a Cowboy on his way to Houston for a livestock show and the third passenger is a fundamentalist Arab student, newly arrived at Texas State University from the Middle East.

Their discussion drifts to their diverse cultures. Soon, the two Westerners learn that the Arab is a devout, radical Muslim and the conversation falls into an uneasy lull. The cowboy leans back in his chair, crosses his boots on a magazine table and tips his big sweat-stained hat forward over his face. The wind outside is blowing tumbleweeds around, and the old windsock is flapping; but still no plane comes.

Finally, the American Indian clears his throat and softly he speaks,"At one time here, my people were many, but sadly, now we are few."

The Muslim student raises an eyebrow and leans forward, "Once my people were few," he sneers, "and now we are many. Why do you suppose that is?"

The West Texas cowboy shifts his toothpick to one side of his mouth and from the darkness beneath his Stetson says in a drawl, "That's 'cause we ain't played Cowboys and Muslims yet, but I do believe it's a-comin'."

well, back at ya! tongue.gif

Two Arabs boarded a flight out of London. One took a window seat and the

other sat next to him in the middle seat.

Just before takeoff, a Marine sat down in the aisle seat. After takeoff,

the Marine kicked his shoes off, wiggled his toes and was settling in

when the Arab in the window seat said, "I need to get up and get a

coke."

"Don't get up," said the Marine, "I'm in the aisle seat, I'll get it for

you."

As soon as he left, one of the Arabs picked up the Marines shoe and spat

in it.

When the Marine returned with the coke, the other Arab said, "That looks

good, I'd really like one, too." Again, the Marine obligingly went to

fetch it. While he was gone the other Arab picked up the Marines other

shoe and spat in it. When the Marine returned, they all sat back and

enjoyed the flight. As the plane was landing, the Marine slipped his

feet into his shoes and knew immediately what had happened. "Why does

it have to be this way?" he asked the two Arabs. "How long must this go

on?

This fighting between our nations? This hatred? This animosity? This

spitting in shoes and peeing in cokes?

THE MARINES WILL ALWAYS WIN!
