Is it just me or is the coverage just a joke. I saw more commercials than race. Them a caution comes out and they don't break in till after the commercial. Makes you really liked fox. How about jeff greene what a looser. He is such a baby.

Good Twins game on at the same time, so the remote got a workout! We watched more baseball than racing until the game ended. Pretty sorry coverage.

I watched the Bristol Busch race, and it was terrible. A crash happens, and they don't know who it is, and the cameras totally missed it. No replays. When a driver is taken out by ambulance, they didn't even attempt to give you an update or express any concern for the driver.

I darn near think BP is getting too old to do shows anymore. For cripes sakes, just after the command to start engines, BP gets on the horn with Jeff Burton. Jeff says he's busy at the time. You could obviously hear the stress in Burton's tone. So BP says something like "oh you are huh?". DUUUUHHHH! And then BP proceeds to interrupt Burton's preparation by asking him a question. Burton gives a short answer and then silence. At least Wally knew what was going on by telling BP it sounds like he's under stress and preparing for the race.

I mean, c'mon! Let these guys in the chase get prepared and do their thing. The last thing they want to do is talk to another reporter or tv personality when the chase is on the line and they're on the bubble.

I thought it was poor taste by them to call on Burton. Should have done somebody like Kenseth, or Johnson, or someone not vying for the top 10.

Did anyone else seem to notice that there were more commercials in the last 150 laps or so than the first? Seemed we'd just get back to coverage, get 3 - 4 laps, then on to commercials for 6 - 7 laps.

I really hope that ESPN can cut down on some of the commercials next year when they finally are back at it. If this type of coverage keeps up, I'll listen to the race on MRN.

We were lucky if we got to see 60 of the last 100 laps...

TNT's coverage and reporters are horrible. Once the races switch from FOX to TNT I usually quit watching the races. I still like racing I just hate the commercials and the announcers have no clue what is going on. They don't know which guys drive what car and are constantly getting the play by play wrong. It's like they are watching a completely different race.

That is why I record and watch at a later time, you can watch a 4 hour race in almost half the time. It's to bad because that was one hell of a race. With the amount of money spent by the sponsors I don't see the number of commercials changing anytime soon. mad.gif

30% of the broadcast was commercials and you're right, it does seem like forever before they come back from commercial break. Maybe is just the dull commericals and never ending Law and Order promos. Geez, I hate that show.

Total number of commercials: 119

Total number of companies or entities advertised: 78

Total number of brief promos of products/services during the race broadcast: 17

I didn't think it was as bad as last week actually. They are still getting in more than their share though. I hope ESPN keeps the ads within the race deal when they get NASCAR back. TBS started this years ago where the ad and the race are split screened. That's awesome!
