Reynolds
I cannot wait to watch the Wild this upcoming season. It has been nice to see the Wild so active this off-season. For a while there I was wondering if we were even going to resign Gaborik. One would have to think with the addition of Demitra that Gaborik is only going to be scoring more goals and vice versa. If Demitra can play a full season he is a legitimate 70-80 point a season scorer. Demitra, also a Slovakian played with Gaborik in the 2006 Olympics. I guess they made quite the duo. mnwild
Awesome 1-2 punch with these 2. I cannot wait for the season to start, this will be the best Wild team ever put together.
Hockey Guy
Man I miss hockey talk! I have been trying to get my fix by looking at every story on NHL.com and USCHOL.com. I am so pumped for this season. The Wild look like they made some great acquisitions and the other teams in our division don't look as dominate as they did the last couple of years. The Gophers look pretty good with the talent that is returning and the new kids coming in. No. Dak and Sconi lost all their best players so they will struggle. St. Cloud State actually looks pretty good this year and I think they will make a run but the Gophers should be the team to beat this year. I would guess they will be the pre-season #1. Everyone is talking about Gabby and Demitra, which is fine, but don't forget about Rolston, Parish, and Kim Johnson! For me personally, I think the best move the Wild made was getting rid of Kuba! Oh wait... He was an All-Star . What a joke.
8-Ball
Kuba was the Kyle Lohse of the Wild. Looked to have ability, won arbitration when he did not deserve it, was overrated from day 1. Good riddens to him.
Hockey Guy
Good Riddens to both of them. I see Lohse was traded yesterday.
Jill
Hockey Guy, I know you just copied the previous post, but I am getting tired of correcting your spelling mistakes. It is spelled riddance.
Hockey Guy
For those of us that have hubcaps on our house and watch NASCAR every Sunday; IT'S RIDDENS!!!

buzzsaw
Jill is definitely HG's wife. You know the routine, guy makes mistake on purpose so that wife can correct him and feel super duper smart and then they watch the gong show together and all goes down happily ever after. Hockey Guy
Yes, she is my wife. I let her think she is smarter than me so I can watch the Family Guy and the Simpson’s every Sunday by myself. I tell her that shows like these are for us less intelligent individuals out there and that most of the stuff she wouldn’t think is funny. The truth is, I think most guys love those shows but I have never met a woman that liked either of them. What’s up with that? It’s like the Matrix. Every guy I know thought that was a great movie but I don’t know of any women that liked it. Weird. Are we still on the hockey forum?
Jarrod32
Hockey indeed!! It was the acquisition of Demitra that helped to get Gaborik signed to a long-term deal. Those two have the potential to combine for one of the best lines in the NHL. And like a previous post mentioned, some of the other teams in the Northwest are a bit weaker...Vancouver lost a lot, but Calgary and Edmonton are still pretty strong. Colorado is decent, but not as dominant as some of their teams in the past.As for college, the Gophers should be strong, but SCSU and UND are also going to be tough. I'm not sure what happened with Denver and CC...But I don't see anyone other than BC being number one to start the year. But the WCHA should be good and competitive again. I'm looking forward to some real good hockey this winter...
upnorthtmh
The only good thing about fishing season winding down is the start up of NHL and Gopher hockey. Sure gets me thru the long winter. I think the Wild are going to be very exciting to watch with their offseason aquisitions. Another good addition would be JP Dumont who was released by Buffalo after he won in salary arbitration. Thank God they kept the Boogie Man to kick some butt.
Fergus Mor McErc
For me, the upcomming hockey season represents that hunting and ice fishing are also drawing near. Bring on Autumn!! Huntin', fishing and hockey all at the same time. I'm prone to pleasure overload from this trio.
