Sorry guys, I kinda forgot about this post. Long story short...We were vacationing in Mazatlan and just went for 1 day(I think 6 hours). We didn't plan on bass fising on this vacation. 5 guys went and I was person who went alone with the guide. It was a little scary floating off in the pitch dark with a guide I didn't know, strange birds making strange noises, and the guide and I spoke different languages. We were in a small fiberglass boat, not very nice. It looked like one of the other guide services had better boats(I think it said Ron Speed on the boats). I was the only guy with any experience bass fishing...and I was the only guy who DIDNT catch a 10-pounder! I would guess I boated approx. 40-50 fish with the biggest being around 7 pounds. I dumped a bigger fish - biggest I've ever seen in person. I had to stop myself from casting to look at the mountains - they were so close - what a beautiful place to fish. I used the guide's gear - he had good rods and reels but had crappy mono in the reals. He wouldn't let me throw anything but a wacky-rigged bubble gum worm(like in Slyster's picture). We fished alot of trees and stumps in the shallows. If I would go again...I would bring my own gear, fish at least 2 whole days, and go thru one of the lodges on the lake with better equipment. But I don't think you can go wrong as long as you are fishing on that lake - the scenary is so awesome and the fishing unlike anything in MN. Story was longer than I thought...sorry.

Paul
