If you are referring to the 25,000 cessna that landed on the lake I do not think it was for an emergency landing. I believe he had landed and was fishing when the game warden came calling. Check out the posts on the political discussion. Most of these points have already been addressed or stated in that forum.

I know it is hard for this subject to not turn into a political discussion - but that wasnt my intention. My main point is that I think these cases of confiscating boats who cross over are pretty extreme. I mean who can afford that?? Yes, this man broke their law - and yes there should be some kind of consequence - but I think confiscating a boat should be reserved for cases where someone is harvesting way over their legal limit, operating their equipment in a manner that is dangerous to others etc... but crossing over an imaginary line in the lake that you cant see is just extreme. Yes, there is miles of fishing area that they could have fished without having even ventured near the line...but this is bound to happen when things arent marked and this certainly wont be the last time. as far as comparing this to the canadien border....those borders and crossing areas are well marked and manned with people who are monitoring. I dont think this is a fair comparison. I suppose I am just "soft" - "minnesota nice" but I just think this case goes too far and is actually more representative of "someone" trying to make a point.

Regarding the idea of placing marker bouys. I own farmland. Am I required to mark my property to keep hunters out? Absolutely not! I am taking advantage of a state law that doesn't require me to mark my land. I probably wouldn't press it but anyone caught tesspassing is subject to the same laws whether I have the property maked or not.

Cripes people make mistakes. Anyone here never been lost or at least not exactly sure of where the were at some time in their life. Be realistic!!!

what it all boils down to is we need to get rid of all "sovreign nations"in the USA and untill this is done nothing will get better. I mean come on you think this is a big deal wait untill they go after more land or more neting wrights, i would like to see a pole on how many people in the state would like to see sovreign nations gone for good

Thought I would put a little humor into the mix. Get all the old fiberglass boats that nobody can give away. Find a few that have working motors and tie about 30 boats behind each working motor (with a volunteer fisherman)and get lost across the imaginary line-cut the rope between each boat and what for them to bust each person. Don't go to court and they get to keep the boats that nobody can give away. This would save a lot of tax dollars. They could be used for target practice and hopefully it would save all the highway signs that are shot up in the neighborhood. That probably wouldn't work, I'm sure our tax dollars pay for those large dumpsters along the hwy and most likely would be used to remove the boats. My last post on the subject-sorry admin couldn't resist. smile.gif
