Northland lures

I like them better than senkos! I love the watermellon color with flakes and one red end.. really nice. They are more durable and more flexible. Don't forget about the MR. Twister Excude Comida's too (their version of the same thing)... Fishing MN members get the online discount... they are just as good.. plus have scent so perhaps better.

Dang, I just tried fishing with Senkos the first time yesterday and now I am hooked! Picked up a pack of the slurpies along with some yamamoto senkos. This had to be the most producive bass fishing I have ever hit. Boated 35 fish in just over 4 hours, which I would consider phenomenal for a northern MN lake! I fished a wacky rigged senko all day and never even considered switching lures! This is what I love about this site, you always learn something new that opens the door to better fishing or hunting!

Ah yes another convert. Welcome to the Senko world. The Senko has stayed number 1 in my 10 list now for 4 year running. My motto is simple. Senko, tubes, rocks, docks, and slop. Now when my senko and tube are not performing from the start it forces me to "fish" I have rambled in other posts of the baits that have worked this year for me.

One bait that has moved to my top five is the x-rap in perch or clown. Awesome for smallies and deadly for the largies.

My game is usually

Attach docks, rock, slop or structure with

Senko

tube

x-rap

buzz bait

spinner bait (I like in line spinners as well as the traditional bass spinner bait)

scum frog

top water

Mimic minnow

If this does not work I am in panic mode and go to

Jig/crawler

Jig/plastic worm deep water breaks

If still nothing I go back to the senko or tube.

Thankfully so far this year all trips have been good. A few slow days but for the most part each trip is 15-20 fish and usually 70% are victoms of the senko or tube

Mike, that is a good question. I honestly do not know the size. I was at Gander earlier in the year and grabbed them of the end cap. The two I have are the perch and Kind of a clown I guess I would call the other.

What got the bait in my top 10 was on the very first cast on the Mississippi river I caught a small mouth. This was followed by several other and my friend got some as well on the red/white clown style.

I would guess this to be a great pike bite as well and do not think color is a big factor. I like that you can basically work this bait fast, slow, jerk, or almost like a top water.

I can't help but like the Sinking Minnows, with that smell I just know it attracts fish, the only problem with them is they dont last as long, and they dry up, but they are cheaper.

Third consecutive outing fishing with the Northland Slurpies in the Purple color. After about 2 hours on the water, I have 10 more bass to add to this years tally!

Dang I am liking this these soft stickbaits!!
