FM Bass Fishing Event Announcement

I'd like to thank beeflover for having me in his boat, it was fun. And also thanks to Ray and his brother, Deitz, and Matt for all thier efforts.

Its too bad we didn't keep our 6th through 12th bass we would have had 2nd place. That is my first tourney lesson learned. I have to laugh though cause we still had fun. Hey, we still beat Deitz as well as some other very good anglers.

If I could expound on our pattern. Ron caught most of the fish (FTB i'll call it) but he consistently made good cast way under docks and pontoons. The hot color similar to the winners was blue/black. I tried to mix it up with different colors just trying to pick up something that didn't like his bait. I caught one 2-2.5 on a mertholiate color which is a cross between pink and orange.

We did pick up 2 on the outside weedline one on a firetiger frenzy and one a jiggy-worm as Ron calls it. They were both around 14 inches and were released because they weren't big enough to cull. (oops) Seeing the size made us go back to docks looking for the kicker.

thanks All,

Adam

Hi all,

Thanks for putting on one heck of an event. It was great to meet all of you and put some faces to the names. I can't say enough about the great sportsmanship that everyone displayed. A special thanks goes out to Deitz, Ray, and Matt for all the extra efforts they put forth to make this event a success. Also, a thanks to Mr. Twister for the generous gift pack that they put together for the event (I really like the visors). And finally, I want to thank my firefighting friends at the Forest Lake Fire Department for distracting enough teams to let me get sixth place. Looking forward to the next event.

if we are going to do a paper tourney we should look at some other catch and releas only lakes like, demontroville, jane, and olson. These lakes are not big but they support some huge fish. i was very impressed with the overall size of fish that these lakes have produced for me and would make a great paper tourney. just another couple of names to put in the hat. ike

So there has been talk aboout another event yet this year. HONESTLY is it going to happen??? Just curious. It could be a get together and a paper tourney then i believe there would be no need for permits and that jazz. If there isn't then i think we should start planning for next year. Cause yes they are a good time. ike

I'm still trying to find a good date for this...

Proposed--- just a get together, North/South Center lake... maybe a big fish contest..(only one fish per person...) then hang out in my yard(only a couple of houses down from the boat landing.) BYOBeverage/Grill food ect...

I am in! Just don't make it on the same day as the Southern MN get together!! Which is...umm dump I will have to look again.

I am just finishing up the floor in my boat so it will be all set for the biggen! I won't brag too much when I get the 26 inch bass which will be bigger than Mr. Pikes grin.gif

Edit: Southern "Fall Tour" is on October 14th, so that is a bad day grin.gif

I would of really liked to have been there last weekend- just not good timing with me. If you did a get together on North/South Center and then dropped down to your place afterwards- I'd be interested. Finding a partner wouldn't be a problem....just getting the date right.

Keep us posted grin.gif

Well deitz it looks like plenty of us are calling your bluff. So now that brings us to the ever so tough date to pick. Keep in mind us hunters when making such a decision however good luck in choosing. ike

Hey Deitz,

It probably will be impossible to make all the hunters happy. I believe that the 14th of October is pheasant opener both in Minnesota and South Dakota. I will be in South Dakota for that weekend. Just keep us all posted and I will be in if it works into the schedule. On a side note, I have a couple of questions I would like to ask you about setting up tournaments and such. If you could shoot me an email I would like to touch base with you. My email is ande1476 at hotmail (Contact Us Please). Thanks.

In looking at the calendar, I'm just going to throw a dart at it because there are two many variables to play with here grin.gif

Here it goes....................thump. I hit September 30th, October 1st weekend? Actually I came up with this weekend since it is the only one I have free from now until then.

If something is put together, I'd be interested in doing this if I'm free.
