Another UPDATE:

First, if you didn't read the previous update, read it.

OK, I talked to Timm's. There should be no problem parking 15 rigs if we keep things organized. So, I'll have a designated parking assistant. As in, he will tell you where to park. However, if you can ride to the lake with your partner, please try to do that. Meet somewhere in Forest Lake and leave your car. It would help a lot.

I hate to be a party [PoorWordUsage]er, but no grilling. Beverages, heltch yes! Timms has no problem with us hanging for a while, but since we will be clogging up the joint I want to be nimble and get out if necessary. With that in mind, we could stop at a nearby watering hole after we finish business.

Again, I would like everyone paid and floating by 6:15 AM. We'll idle out to the bouys and have one last chat. By the way, whoever is the last boat is the official starter. I will give them directions after they draw number 15.

Butterflies! Getting set right now in fact.

I hope there are some other small boats coming.. it's going to look pretty funny with us in the 14 foot "Titanic" surrounded by the US Bass Navy!

Sly- I hear you brother... and please remember, anybody who has a rocket ship now, did not start in a rocket ship.. When I started fishing tournaments, it was out of a 16" Bluefin Spectrum with a 35 HP force eng..... Dude.. it's not the boat.. it's the angler.. and on any given day, it may be your day!

I hope to heck sly that you and your partner do well, heck I hope you win it!... because that means that FM is doing its job to make all of us better anglers!

I look forward to meeting you on Saturday.

'Til then...

Deitz

I started fishing club tournaments out of 15 ft Crestliner AMF with a 25hp Mariner. I've since graduated up the tiller boat line, but I'm still a tin boat-tiller steering dude. Dietz is right, the boat don't make a lick a difference. In fact, I learned more about boat control with my little boats that would get batted about in a 10 mph wind, then I would have had I started in something big and heavy.

Sly, I hope you and Will finish second. wink.gif

Hope everyone has a great time. Speaking of boats I still remeber my first 14 foot Lund with a 25 hp Merc. I had sanded the wooden seat and put new finish on. Mounted my electronics, seats, little trolling moter etc. That was one of the best 1400.00 I ever spent and boy did I catch fish out of that boat.

My rig is now fully loaded with all the toys but I will never forget the feeling of moving up from a shore angler to my first rig. Its all about the experience, time spent with friends or Dad, and of the bonus fish are always a joy

I started out with a 1993 Lund tiller with a 60 hp tiller. I was blown by many times, but still managed to find some fish. Wait a minute.......I'm still in that boat! Good luck to you all Saturday. I've already re-tied all my rods. I had to, since I learned that I was using the wrong baits altogether. confused.gifI learned this by glaring thru my binocs at the other pre-fisherman last weekend. shocked.gif
