OK guys. I'm putting together final plans and a final roll call for the Mankato Cat Gathering.

#1- If you plan on attending. Please post on this thread. It would be nice to get a good list of people who are going to be there.

#2- List if you are shorefishing or boat fishing. Maybe, just maybe, we'll be able to hook up some shorebound anglers with some boat anglers.

#3- When are you planning to be there? Day/time or whatever you may know.

So here's the list of those planning to attend:

-Rushing

-icehousebob

-AQUAJOE

-hanson (camping Friday & Saturday nights)

-dragon master

-stam34

-Dennis Steele (Saturday night fishing)

-Dark30 (is bringing the monkey)

-Kurt Paulsen (riding w/ Dennis)

-Papa Grump

-dtro

-harvey lee (Saturday night fishing)

-Fisher Dave & family (tentative)

-Fish 'n Guy

-honky kong

-blacksportsman

-Buzbunni & FishinLogician (Team Buzlogic) Tentative so far

#4- Bait Post here as well with requirements for bait. Most of us are probably covered but if you are not, let us know. I plan on a bullhead mission this week. Mine are really FAT 7" bullheads. I can't believe how FAT and lively they are for 7". Or maybe someone chopped the first 2" off my tape measure off. confused.gif

Rob- Didn't want to hijack your other thread but figured we need to get final plans and people in one location.

Not officially finalized yet, but prelimary plans puts myself and Harvey Lee in the shuttle. Not sure what the time planned for arriving is, but I wouldn't mind showing up a little early on Sat to shoot the breeze with everyone and maybe round up some grub cool.gif

You'all just had to set this on the same date as the get together on the LOTW. I'd love to do this one as I mentioned some weeks back when the dates were still up in the air, but I'm obligated to the one at LOTW. It's been about twenty years since I have caught a Flatheaded Mudcat and I've yet to fish 'em in MN. Maybe next year I will dare to wander down south of the URL.

Have fun and no sword fights.

I'll be fishing with dragon fri and sat. Stam will be up on friday too. I know of 4-5 Mankato FMers that will be there on sat as well.

I am bringing brauts and buns and I think Stam said he was gonna be bringing some stuff to throw on the grill too. grin.gif

I can try to bring some bullheads along if people need any. I will also not be there until later in the evening. Probably between 7-9 sometime. I have to go to a wedding, but i am going to ditch out of that ASAP...

I think we've got a pretty solid list guys.

I've still got question marks by dtro & Papa Grump but Darren is catching bullheads and Tom Hatlestad is riding with them so they must be in for sure now.

Fisher Dave is still tentative so we'll just look for him to show up late on friday and show us where the flatheads are at.

Manny?? blacksportsman?? Were you coming to this?

The future Mrs. Blacksportsman and I are planning on attending, barring any unforseen circumstances. We'll be arriving Saturday afternoon and fishing throughout Saturday evening. As far as I know, we'll be fishing from shore.

Looking forward to see you all there smile.gif

Tom -I'm not sure on when the Shuttle service will be there, most definatly by 6:00 though.I will let Dtro know at work on Friday. The girls are giving me a hard time on missing their races this weekend with all the changes I made to the karts for this week.Dang racing, that's probably why Dark's monkey has been riding around on my back lately mad.gif.

I get to go catch bait tonight on my birthday which isn't so bad. Bullhead is a member of the catfish family so I can say I'm going cattin'. Tried to get the bait collecting duty done last night but them buggers weren't cooperating, only got 10 nice ones. Them darn green carp kept stealing my bait. Accidentally caught 6 walleyes fishing for bullheads last night. They were all under 13" but what the heck!

Okay, boys and girls. I picked up groceries for Sunday morning breakfast. The menu will include pancakes with cherries, blueberry syrup or pancake syrup, sweet rolls, eggs in several forms, sausage, bacon, or ham (and don't hog the meat grin.gif) and my world famous breakfast sandwiches. I dropped about 50 bucks on groceries, but I still have to know how many to expect.

I could use some help by having the first person there claiming a picnic table near the launch for me to set up my canopy and use for cooking. Also, anyone bringing a gas grill that I can put on a cast iron griddle for pancakes would be welcome. And someone will be shanghied to flip pancakes.

RULES: Kissing the cook is not encouraged unless you're female and young. And anyone ordering Eggs Benedict will become one with the river.

Help with the grocery bill would be accepted.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
