Swing away trailer tongues

Scoot

Question

I did a search on swing away trailer tongues and didn't find what I'm looking for. Who can tell me what? It looks like they're easy to install. Are some brands better than others? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Fulton is the only manufacturer I had found that makes them. I got mine online at Northern Tool. It was about $125 and took about 3-4 hours to install. The boat fits great in the garage now. I think it saves you 21 inches or so.

Depending on the brand and year of trailer you could also order one from a marine dealer... although that will likely be more expensive than the one from Northern or Cabelas. If you have hydraulic brakes they get a little more tricky since you have to deal with the hydraulic hose going to the axle.

One of my previous boats was on a Yacht Club trailer. I took it to a Yacht Club dealer and they ordered a swing tongue from Yacht Club for it. Looked like a pretty simple installation but I let them do it. It worked great.
