What are 'senko' plastics actually called?

I asked this in another thread.. but it was a tad off topic, and things were too active for people to notice... so... if I use a generic (other brand) "Senko"... what DO we call them?

I thought they were generically called stickbaits but recently found out these are actually a style of hard crankbait...

So.. what are these senko like worms called overall?

I only fish with them once in a blue moon but when I reffer to them I just call them senkos and I dont even use senko brand.

I guess its sort of the same as calling flashers 'vexilars'. Im a proud owner of a marcum but still catch myself saying "grab the 'vex" or "my 'vex is lit up".

yep.. soft stick baits or do nothing worms...however i think its fine to call them senko type lures as they were the first..

Just like many soft plastic jerkbaits are called "Flukes" as the zoom Fluke was the first to make it popular!.

it's like kleenex, or Scotch tape, even though the product is imitated 50 times it's such a strong name it becomes generic for the product

By the way, I did a comparison in a swimming pool:

Rate of fall from fastest:

Senko

Comida

Dinger

Trickstick

Sluggo

And last but not least-Ring Fry

I didn't have a Gulp swimming minnow.
