BigJohnnyIce
This isn't a fishing report, but a weather one. This was the scene about 40-50 miles west of me. We did get a little snow at my house, but nothing like this!! Schools and businesses are closed from Batavia to Buffalo. More than 200,000 people without power! CNY Tim
Mario stopped over while I was filleting eyes and he said except for a couple of bosnians Oneida Creek was wide open They were p.o.d too when they saw the Danielos ripping em in within 5 minutes of them arriving . I guess a good tip that I can share is if the only spot you can fish is the up wind side then stick close to the marinas and creek mouths. Find the bait and the walleyes are below start with difeerent style cranks shallow, suspending and have some plastics with you too. Last night the creek was more a sonar/plastic bite other nights it's cranks Keep putting in your homework till something clicks., blues are the hot color... I have reseived some emails on where I get those pretty challenger cranks well the only I guy I know that has them is 3D Tackle on Turin Rd. here in Rome and Fish 307 off the web. Taking tonight off and then I'm gonna call Campbell and see what's up for a Sunday rendezvous, my Browns are off this week so I'll be feeling pretty upbeat cause I won't have to watch them lose yet again Big win for the Cards against the Mets last night hopefully they will start putting a little consistency together. Tim let me know how you look for Sunday if you want to head up I'm home, call me..

CNY Tim
Lee - Sweet.. Oneida's walleyes are nice and fat again this season and they all seem to be in that 19 - 20" range. I have only had one short one this fall. These are the times when sleep is the last option.
CNY Tim
Poured hard rain all night last night so the walleyes got a break and it could last a litlle bit because the water level is back up again. Keeping an eye on the wind I have plans Staurday afternoon with a new friend to do some fishing. I 'll get some pics to share with you guys but right now it's about the St. Louis Cardinals! CNY Tim
Well the Cardinals didn't fair so well and as always frustrated with there play I went fishing for eyes on the Big "O". Met up with Jan at the bar and him and another guy scratched one fish but he also said that they hammered em there last night with the rain. Anyhow here's a couple of pics of the two I caught and Dark Cloud will appreciate the bait

Dark Cloud
Nice shad rap! I lost that fish the other night and when I tied the bait on I wasnt impressed with any of the trebles on my shad raps(too many fish caught on em). I picked up a box of replacement trebles at Gander yesterday for em. Next time you order some challengers i'll take a half dozen. 3 blues and the rest dont matter.... CHM
Tim,Is the Challenger Jr about the same as the wally world minnow? I'm thinking abouut ordering some Challengers but had a few questions.Could you please shoot me an e-mail at [email protected]Thanks!Chuck
CNY Tim
Good question CHM. The Walmart Renegade minnows are nice and we had success with them last season and I have quite a few in various colors and when the eyes are all over the place like Dark Cloud says "anything will work" and he's right. The difference between the two is the walmart minnow has a little more side to side than a soft roll action which the challenger duplicates perfectly to the original thundersticks which are probably one of if not the best walleye stick baits going for Oneida. The challenger junior minnow has the same slow roll action, reflects more light, end loaded for an extra in some cases 30' of casting distance which is a plus when the eyes are not close to shore and premium VMC hooks. Walleyes will track cranks for quite a distance before they strike sometimes right at your feet and having an extra 30' on a cast can lend to closing the deal a little quicker. I have a black/chrome and a green chrome one that caught quite a few walleyes from last season, I'll try to provide a pic of both of them here. Challengers cast like a bullet with fireline or power pro and have a sweet seductive action that seems to mesmorize walleyes. They work great if pike are on a buckeye binge but I would have a few Rapala shallow shad raps too especially when the shad are in there another must have weapon in your shore fishing arsenal. CNY Tim
Here's a couple from last year and I wouldn't hesitate putting them back on my line again. Experimenting with removing the front split rings and attaching directly to a duo-loc snap and I like it...
Dark Cloud
Timmy - give Joe my number. I'll take em. I can send him check, cash, or card...Spaghetti dinner at our church today. CNY Tim
5 bills for the church nice bro.. So did Dad pull a "Goodfellas" on you kept you stirring the sauce It's to late to call Joe now but I'll call him in the morning and give him your number, he already has your home phone so I take it you want me to give him your cell? Let's see what Joe comes up with and I'll cover you here and will hook up later? By the way you can tell Pop that the apples, venison and cider were thoroughly enjoyed by our family. Cider was gone quick and there's like 3 apples left and we had the venison Thursday for dinner. Amanda has one of Pop's apples when she get's home from school and another after dance for a snack before bed and she took one everyday to school with her lunch. How do you like dem apples...Thanks
CNY Tim
After the Cardinals Game 1 victory over the Tigers I glanced outside and noticed that the wind was just perfect for one of DC's honey holes so T-Bone and I tied on some big shad raps and after catching our 26th walleye we called it a night Closer
