Dark Cloud
Got back yesterday from a nice week in Canada. Weather was skrewy - lots of wind and changing pressure plus rain. The eyes bit well in general. We ate 4 meals throughout the week and all 5 of us brought home our limits. Scenery was great, alot more color to the trees than down here... Big fish of the week was a 26 inch eye, got some some nice smallies and a few 2 ft northers also... Dad with a couple a 22 inchers Me with a 24.5 Our friend Mr. Chipmunk A few sunsets

Dark Cloud
The weeds are laying down and the eyes are getting active at the same time the baseball playoffs are starting. Each year its the same, you can set it like clockwork. Two weeks and you guys will be filling the freezer...
BigJohnnyIce
Hit Honeoye today with the 'Wizard'. Things were slow after the post cold front condtions. We had to leave early due to an unplanned Wizard's family issue. It turned out OK because it was slow and I was able to get home and do some things at home that I have been putting off. We did manage a few largemouths and some big gills. The gills were caught using ice fishing jigs tipped with spikes or wax worms drifting in 25 to 26 FOW. There was actually ice on the launching dock this morning (it was 32 Deg when I got there)....a few guys almost fell on there butts getting their boats in the water. I yelled out, "break out the power augers" and got some laughs. There was an erie fog to the start of the day that stuck to the lake (kinda cool though)
CNY Tim
Fished late tonight and well it was pretty much awful but I did pick up two keepers at the bar an 18" and 16.5". Talked to a guy that was wading for almost 5 hours and he only had one fish. That's how it goes but it was great to get out wasn't it Johnny... Dark Cloud
Went up salmon country yesterday for the day. Lots of salmon!!! Fished our "secret" creek till noon. Lots of kings and some cohos and a few browns mixed in. Dad and I had about 200 yards of creek and close to 100 fish to ourselfs. Had some lunch at the Lower fly zone then fished there till 5. Plenty of fish there. We landed a few and hooked a few dozen each. A beutifull sunny day in the mid 60's... Me with a nice king... Dad with a beutifull colored up coho... Me with a 30 pounder... It was a slaughter for two hours last night jigging 1/8 oz blue/white sonars, walking the wall., Mario, Anthony and Sal got there limits in less than 30 min. at sunset! Meeting the King tonight for some wading. The biggest walleye Mario and the boys caught caught was 22"
CNY Tim
Sunday was a b.s. session as none of us had more thana couple of bumps, it was nice meeting up with Fishingking, Z and the Shmuck. Gotta have a drop in temperature and some west wind to get them shoreline walleyes stirred up. Usually were in full swing this time of year but this year thus far is not the case. CNYFrank
Shad are slowly making their way in . . .many on the shoreline eating algae. I think the sun and increased temps caused the fish to hang out deeper until the water cooled. Yesterdays early clouds and the changing weather should have things progressing nicely . . .just in time for me to be in the Dominican Republic for a "free" vacation planned by the "honey." Going to miss muzzle opener and not get back until late next Saturday for rifle opener . . .some planning eh? I will put a rod in the Tahoe for the trip back from the airport that night!!! Picked up 5 for 2 outings this weekend.
Fishingking
Tried out the brand new LX-5 today on some bluegills, the unit was incedieble especially the adjustable zoom. I ended up catching somewhere around 75-100 bluegills total . Four gills caught were longer than 9"s ! @ 9.25", 1 @ 9.50", 1 @ 9.75" and one right at dark that went 10"s (all these bluegills were released). I ended up keeping 21 bluegills total with 4 of these being 9"s long. A great 4 hours spent on the water oh and one perch was caught and 2 small bass all these self shots are really bad the 10"er

Dark Cloud
Up the Salmon river again yesterday and it was amazing, this time Paul joined us. Started at our small creek and it had fish but not as many as friday. The holiday weekend had em thinned out. We still landed three each. Off to the main river. It had dropped to 350cfs which is parfect. We didnt care about keeping any so we fished the lower flyzone. Tons of fish there. Bet dad hooked 50 fish throughout the day. We landed over a dozen and could have more if ya fealt like chasing em. Heres some action picts... Dad with one on Paul in the same spot. There was about 8 fish in that hole. Dad on the main river putting the hammer on one with the 14ft spey rod...
CNY Tim
Awesome... Pops man handling that is a great picture, sweet.. CNY Tim
Franky and I did a little clean up on Oneida last night. The bar was open, the finger was full and so wasn't Amen Corner. Fished from 8:30 p.m. til 12:40 a.m. It took a while for me to get into em but once I found the right plug and the right retrieve there arse was mine. Thanks to a Cardinal rain out I did not miss what turned out to be a fantastic night on Oneida. When the wind died the fishing died. Took all my fish on a rainbow trout Challenger Minnow... I didn't get any shots of Franks fish but he really whacked em early And another limit.. The plug.. Whoah... wait a minute where did these two come from? Nice work Mike

CNY Tim
There a constant producer for me from shore until the Shad run starts then I go big, very big... Frank it was nice walking in to work late with you this morning, at a glance we both had that weary walleye look to our faces, a bit tired after a fun night. I forgot to mention to you Frank that I got not one fish on a steady crank, all were pocket twitched? Go Cards!!!
Fishingking
Hey Tim are you going back out tonight I may be up for a road trip Give me a ring if you wantta go out winds 10mph WSW with 20 mph gusts this evening.
CNYFrank
Tim . . .I was up at 5:30 and ready to go back out . . .but then I fell back asleep and now I look like you . . .scary thought and I bet if we took a vote it would be 100%!! With the wind blowing like it was on that spot, that's pretty much all you have to do on a short 10-15 foot cast . . you hit it on the head . . .although I would have used the chartreuese one I was catching them on. LOL With the wind coming in like it is tonight, I would think waders out at Sylvan Beach would be a good place to go or out at the North Shore. Got to play the wind . . . CNY Tim
Play the wind baby Tim can't tonight, gotta run my daughter to dance, got eyes to clean and the post season fever. That wind sounds just about right for Schneibles. If you get there get there early it won't be long before it's a madhouse. If your wading head out to the first bouy and work the channel edge west and south across. I hope the water isn't to murky, start with a #10 husky jerk and work from there, crank hard doown into the channel and slow roll across. If there crashing the flats challengers and those cheapo walmart plugs work well. I'll keep an eye on the weather but Friday maybe doable if you want? Fishingking
I swung through Snib's on the way home fished 7-7:45 the wind was brutal, you could cast worth a darn. There were 4 guys wading that ended up running back to shore when the wind got worse and the waves starting getting to be a couple of feet high. Everyone jetted out of there and so did I. One guy wading claimed he got a 26"er that he let go (didnt believe him) but noone else had any luck. I dont know whats going on for the weekedn yet I may stay close to home and chase some bluegills Tom. evening. THe Rock show I was going to Saturday got canceled so I wont be in Utica that night. Not sure if I wantta go back to Oswego and chase some more of those half dead salmon. I'll let ya know.
