Gulls back on Rainy

Gulls returning to the border and the boys hockey tournament this weekend are a sure sign that open water is near.

Canadian Geese started arriving around the Brainerd Lakes area this past weekend and hanging out on the rivers. Another sign that we are getting close!

The Dariy Queen located on Central Entrance, Duluth opened last weekend. That is a sure sign that spring is near.

My driveway is only 40% covered in ice and packed snow- we're gettin' close!

Coming home from an event at a local pond I saw robins all over a lawn on the outskirts of Rochester....whats the old saying? Robins will get snowed on three times before Easter?

And right now we are having thunder and rain/snow mixed falling.

I love it.

Robins? Wow. That definitely is a sure sign!

Rain mixed with sleet today. Canada geese have been around for 2 weeks now. Won't be long before that ice starts to look awefully dark!

In one way, I'm ready for open water. Yet in another way, I sure would like that ice to stay for a while as I've been having some awefully nice crappie and sunnie fishing through the holes. I just hope I can carry it over into open water.

now is when the sunnies get to be fun. I better get the planks and waders ready. you can cut holes on sunday, fish them all week and never have to reopen them twice.

We are getting dumped on with 2 to 5 inches of snow... it just isn't close enough.

We now have Robins here in Sibley County! Heard a few rumbles of thunder this am too! Music to my ears!
