Cloquet area bass lakes

I'm not a bass fisherman by any means but I do know Caribou, Nickels and Grand have some good populations of LM Bass.

Something else you can do is float a canoe down the the Cloquet river for SM Bass. Access from the Munger Shaw rd and take out at Hwy 33 or from 33 to the St Louis river and take out at hwy 2.

I know theres some local bass guys on the Duluth/BWCA/Range forum that could help you with more lakes in the area.

thewalleyeguy - Good question and you have lots of areas to fish for bass in the area. Like Surface Tension said, I'd try Caribou and Nichols for Largemouth Bass. Caribou has a couple fo bays/fingers that have lilypads galore for you to fish in and around. Nichols has quite a bit of vegetation to there right of the public access to fish LM.

As for Smallies, the best option is for you to buy a canoe and either float the River (mentioned above) or head up to the lakes in the BWCA and catch em' until you are red in the face!! If you are interested in doing some bigger water fishing, try the St.Louis River. I've hooked into a few and they are small, probably don't want to try that.... sorry I brought it up wink.gif

thewalleyeguy,

We started up a "just for fun" bass league last year in the Duluth area. We fish lakes within about an hour or so from Duluth. Its free and we have a great group of guys. If your interested in the league send me an email at lsw2002 at AOL (Contact US Regarding This Word). I can help ya out with a few lakes in your area also.

Granny
