New Humminbird units...?

Has anyone had any experience with the new humminbird graphs?

They tried 3-D years ago and I don't think it was all it was cracked up to be...

Do they have the glitches now solved?

How good are they?

The 3D thing was totally worthless on the Mankato area lakes that are relatively featureless.

This will be my second year running a Matrix 97 GPS combo color unit. Awesome unit.

MN is very heavy pro-Lowrance (even higher than the rest of the country) so you may hear negative HB comments. I believe these to come from individuals comparing against older models. If you frequent any forums boards that cover more of a national scene you will see a lot of positive HB comments on the new stuff.

I would love to get the new side imaging system, but will never afford $1500+.

I believe Hummingbird/Bottom Line was recently bought out by Johnson Outdoors. In my opinion, they have been making drastic improvements on the quality of their product line.

I am thinking that Hummingbird will have a stronger presence around here in the near future.

I have sold about 100 Humminbirds that last 2 years and had problems with 3 of them. (2 of them were from customer breaking the card reader trying to put a sd card in a mmc reader). I have really been impressed with them. The new 700 series are supposed to be really nice. Hoping to put one on my boat this spring and try it out.

I liked my Matrix that I had and was able to link my GPS to it with a cable. It would be nice if you could do that with the Ifinder to the Various Lowrance units that don't have GPS. Has anyone had any experience with Vexilars Edge?

Just began comparing them and I have to admit I like the looks of the 700 series too. I'd love a sidefinder too, but that price....Whew!

Anybody have any experience or knowledge of the 900 Series units? I got the green light to buy a GPS/Sonar unit this year. Specifically looking at the 937 or 947 3D.
