Dennis Steele
I'd like to welcome YourBobbersDown.com to our great list of FishingMinnesota sponsors. They carry a wide variety of your favorite ice fishing jigs and gear. From Fiskas jigs to Line and even some unique rods. I had the opportunity to fish with some of their products this weekend and was immpressed with the quality and fishability. I was excited to see that even on their smallest jigs the eyes were open and the eye catching paint jobs for one caught my eye as well as a few fish's. The fine wire hooks were extremely sharp and easy to thread small plastics and euro larva on. They also use tungsten isntead on lead on many of their jigs. This helped me get my bait down fast to the schools of fish that were passing through the area, allowing me more time to tempt these fish. What I am really excited about is their line of unique FISKAS Balances. I have found that often a horizontal presentation is not only more natural, but will turn finicky fish. These unique designs will be taking up a lot of room in my tackle box. Here are a few of those unique jigs that I am excited to give a try. Great horizontal baits for walleye. The LG25 swims in a circle pattern as it slowly falls. Very cool! They also have a line of swiming jigs as well.
Ray Esboldt
I'm with you on the excitement of having Your Bobbers Down on board, Dennis. I went through their site yesterday and really liked what I saw.The thought that ran through my head was, "Hey, this isn't the same old same old." Do you guys know what I'm talking about? You stop at a bait shop, look at ice flies, and everything looks the same. Same paint job, same style, and probably the same action in the water. You just end up buying more of what you already have. That's not all bad. We all have our favorites, and they produce 90% of the time. But these jigs are unique. It's stuff that the fish don't see. Stuff that really looks to me as trigger baits - taking neutral fish and stirring them into a reaction bite.Check out their site, and I think you'll agree. In addition to their well refined online ordering options, they list out the stores around our area that their product is sold retail. And, Dennis, that's really cincher for me if they don't paint the eyes shut. I'd pay a buck more a jig to avoid that hassle.
CNY Tim
All I can say is Welcome Jaime! I have been using your stuff for about four years now and if some of you guys haven't fished tungsten your missing the boat. Wolfram's, epoxies, handpainted and an array of balances are my prime baits when fishing deep water perch and Your Bobber's Down arsenal of small baits that fish deep is exactly why I upped my perch take two and in some cases three fold. If your aspiring to be a top flight tournament ice fisherman then you better have what most pro's are packing from YBD. Your Bobbers Down is where great things come in small packages! Matt Johnson
Indeed a great product! Fishing small profiled jigs in deep water just got a whole lot easier! A small profile jig that has some weight to it... you can't even put a price on a jig like that some days when targeting perch or pannies that are holding tight to the bottom in deep water. Drops quick yet allows me to effectively entice negative fish. I'm a die hard pannie angler through the ice, and jigs like these are a must-have at times. There's nothing more frustrating then waiting forever for your jig to get down to the fish, especially when they start to dissappear Now you can get your jig down quick and not sacrifice profile when the times call for it. Another excellent product! Welcome aboard Your Bobbers Down!
Little John
The Fiskas line of jigs carried by Jamie is truly awesome and definitely not the same old stuff with a new paint job. I have a very large selection of all the styles. And they all catch fish. The tungsten based products fish heavier than anything you guys have ever tried. This allows you to down size your presentations, even in deep water situations. The hooks are of the finest quality, as are the simple but unique paint jobs. Also, I’ve never had a Fiskas jig react with my soft plastics. Oh yah, I can’t forget to mention how well they fish soft plastics. That’s why www.yourbobbersdown promotes Little Atom’s full line up of plastics. They are truly a winning combination and definitely not a secret among professional ice fishermen. This is great…two of my favorite product lines (Your Bobbers Down and Little Atom) are now represented on FM. It really doesn’t get any better than that.Welcome aboard Jamie!

iffwalleyes
No kidding Wiskers. I thought it was a problem last year when I had to get a second revolution for all my rods know I have too much tackle to get into the two bags. What is wrong with me. Some great looking jigs there I need to place an order.

Another excellent product! Welcome aboard Your Bobbers Down! I couldn't agree more Matt. This was the exact thing happening this weekend with the Crappie we were chasing. As soon as you found some on the flasher they started to leave before you could get the jig down and then the Fiska's Wolfram 4mm Epoxy finish was tried and got the drop on them crappie. As I mention in another thread we found the larger Crappie were suspended just below the smaller more aggressive buggers this weekend. Dropping down the Fiskas tipped with a Little Atom Nuggie dropping right past the top fish and targeting the lower marks on the screen payed off. I heard the winning team say they were using the L-A plastic on Fiskas jigs...again! Not to mention many other teams are catching on and were overheard saying the same thing...again. During these dog days of winter is when the tungsten in these jigs makes for a smaller presentation leading to more bites from the lethargic fish. Remember that many lakes shallow weeds die off and fish vacate the shallows for more Oxygen rich depths at this time of year. The Plastics help us target the aggressive biters. Like has been said before they come out of nowhere and cream them. I will say that combining the plastic with a waxie or a couple spikes bulked up the offering for the larger more opportunistic fish. At times this seemed to be preffered by the fish. On tourney day they wanted the plastic alone for us. Natural colors seemed to fair better in the clearer water and pressured fish. Drilling alot of holes and searching for them on the flasher and then fishing them when you found them made a huge difference. Getting away from the crowd (not far away, the edges) payed off for the winners. The paint jobs cannot be compared to others and the hooks are sticky sharp and forged combining for some incredible lures. The metal colors are some of our favorites, especially the hole in the head mormyshka lures. Tungsten jigs are machined not poured and make for some precision made baits. Fine tuned for fishing well and getting down fast. Well worth the money. Welcome aboard Jaime. P.S. Don't overlook adding them to your box for the spring thaw coming. Open water fish love them just as much. These are not ice only jigs. We use them all year on the pannies.
CNY Tim
Perch love size 3 and 4 gold wolframs. We have been hammering the deep perch on this jig all season tipped with a couple spikes...
CrappieJohn
This company also has a wide variety of spring bobbers. When it comes to adaptability they should be able to outfit just about any rod with a quality spring to trick even the fussiest of panfish. At only $2 a spring they are very affordable as well. Captain B.R.K
Welcome to FISHINGMINNESOTA.COM, it's nice to see you here! I still have your business card from when you were at the Ice Fishing Expo in St.Paul a few years ago. I always wondered when you might pop up on our site ! I bought a BIG handful of your jigs that day and am very happy with their performance! My favorite jigs are the Malade's! Blue is the ticket for me when I'm out on the water! Take a look on page 4 of 6 in their Catalog and you'll see what I'm talking about! Great product and again, WELCOME!!
SUNNYD
Fiska's Wolfram jigs they are the phenomenon in our icefishing group of 4 guys this year. We chase bluegills exclusively in the winter months and 90 percent of the time when you ask one of us what we are using the quick answer has been Fiska Wolfram jig in 4MM for size. My father-in-law who is an icefishing freak was the culprit who got us all hooked...now we each have an assortment of wolframs in 3MM and 4MM in various sizes and colors. I kid you not when I say that between the four of us we have probably purchased 300 jigs in the last 3 months. We had one member of our group take it to the extreme and order $200 of product. Fine product to say the least...fiskas should be in our jig boxes for years to come...Thanks for being a sponsor...
Matt Johnson
Targeted crappies this morning and manage to find a healthy school of fish relating to a soft-bottom flat in about 13 feet of water. They would come through both suspended and on the bottom. Their activity level seemed fairly aggressive, however, they were not too willing to take the bait. I worked several presentations and ended up catching all my crappies on a size 14 (4mm) Wolfram Epoxy Jig from Your Bobbers Down. As you can see I tipped this will a single euro larva and it proved to be the ticket on the fish today... These fish wanted something small and horizontal in profile. The Wolfram jig allowed me to drop down quick and stay with the school before it moved on. Instead of 1 or 2 fish per school, I could pick up 4-5 before they moved on. A small profiled jig that fishes "heavy" was the answer, and the Wolfram line of jigs do just that.
YourBobbersDown
It is great to see all your posts, especially those big gill, slab crappie and jumbo perch posts. Just wanted to add that you shouldn't put your FISKAS away when the ice is out. After ice, my favorite fishing is tying a 3-5' fluorocarbon leader on a stream bullet foat with a Wolfram Jig in 3-4mm with a waxie, Berkley Crappie Bite or Little-Atom plastics and floating them over gill beds or drifting for crappie! Try it ~ and when you make your catch - drop me an email with pictures and we'll add you to our Brag Board! [email protected]
