I would go with the Sweet Thing Plus (24-inches) and their spring bobber. The Sweet Thing Plus is a very versatile rod. It's great for both finesse and aggressive fishing. It also functions very well inside or outside of a portable fish house.

The Finesse Plus (19-inches) with their spring bobber is an excellent finesse rod (hence the name), but it lacks a little when aggressively jigging when compared to the Sweet Thing Plus in my opinion.

And the Sweet Heart Plus (28-inches) is ideal for run and gun fishing outside, but it's not as productive for finesse fishing as the Sweet Thing Plus or Finesse Plus. It's also a little longer rod and in some smaller one-man portable fish houses it can be tight depending on how you fish.

I use all three of the above mentioned rods, and all three are excellent choices for panfish, but for what you're looking for I would go with the Sweet Thing Plus and add their spring bobber...

sorry, i have found that frabill has a great line of sticks that offer all the same features as the big guys do but for about 1/3 the cost or less. i own two 20" panfish poppers and a 26 inch popper and all have the spring tip on them. yes i would love to have one of the custom rods that thorne bros. offer. however unless someone gifts me one. not happenig. ..... paul

Frabils are nice rods I just picked up one a couple weekens ago but Thornes are the king. It really is something that you don't understand until you own or use one and after you do you fall in love with them. I always warn people that if you buy one you will buy more. There are alot of nice sticks out there but then it is very true that you get what you pay for.

True and to the point what iffwalleyes just said about you "get what you pay for".

This is very true with a Thorne Bros rod. I was in a predicament when I bought my first TB rod. I had a Genz light action lighting rod I was happy with but a buddy and I went into Thorne Bros and we bought our first rods. I now own 5 of their rods! shocked.gifgrin.gif

The Panfish Sweetheart Plus w/ the spring bobber is definately a rod to have in your arsenal.

I know it's a little $$ when you look at the bill, but you will be very happy and it WILL be the rod you pick up on each of your outtings!!
