OUTDOORNUT
Shifty had a good idea about having a fantasy NASCAR here and why not? Lets see if anyone would be interested and see what would be the easiest for everyone to play and keep track of.One we do at work is; You pick ONE driver each week, the driver that finishes the highest wins. The trick here is you can only use that driver once a season. (Subs, road course aces, limited schedule and pre rookie drivers are all fair game)If someone misses a week, the winner of that week gets to chose a driver to take off the list of that person. Or I was thinking we could do the Top 5 again, but then take the average of what your top five drivers did and that is your winner. Maybe simple bonus for guessing the race winner, etc.We could place Signature bets, winner each week gets to pick a signature that the rest would have to add to their profile for the entire week. (i.e. My favorite driver is Dale Jr., I'd rather push a Dodge than drive a Chevy, etc.) Of course the signature would have to remain civil and respectable. harvey lee
I would be interested, only problem is I cant pick Jr every week. Some weeks I might have to pick a Rousch car.
lawdog
Good idea, lets do something!
Sifty
I think the top five thing would work the best. Some one would have to keep track and there would need to be a time that they are due by as well as if you edit your post you would be out for that week.Just a few thoughts.Sifty
JohnMickish
By picking Roush cars you'll have more winners! I like the one driver idea, but sometime I'm going to have to pick a DEI driver. Thank god they are only good at two tracks. Well, except for last year, they weren't good at any tracks.
outdoor ran
Count me in, sounds like fun.
JohnMickish
Maybe split the season into fourths, picking say 3-4 drivers for each quarter, not being able to use them over again. That would be interesting come the chase.I do like the idea of the signature bet, only keep all of them until you win a week, then you get to erase them. imgonnamisshim
Is it too late to join the Fantasy group on fm?
OUTDOORNUT
not to late. We will have to finalize the system and have something together about a week b4 the 500. Welcome to the "pits" of the FM Nascar forum.
1lkstage
We use the ESPN fantasy one at work. Start a room, anyone could join. Pick 5 a week, let them ride, or just change some, you just have to stay within a set point value, and it keeps the score based off driver points I believe. You would have to read more about it. JohnMickish
OK, I think I just started a fantasy NASCAR group for us at fantasysports.yahoo.It's run by yahoo and the group name is FishingMN. Somebody try and join it to see if you can. This is my first attempt at this so I don't know what I'm doing.
JohnMickish
I got it figured out. The group name is FishingMN, the group number is 26294 and the password is musky. It's pretty simple after that. Some hints, you can only change the drivers on your list before qualifying and you can only use each driver for 9 races per half season. And Jr. is on the "B" list. eyepatrol
I'm game! I'd be more in favor of picking one driver for one race out of the year and then not again. My only question would be....what if more than one person picks the winning (or top) driver for that race?Whatever you guys decide, you can count me in! Sounds like a great deal of fun. JohnMickish
I'm pretty sure that the chances of a tie are pretty slim. This might not be the perfect fantasy system out there but it here, it running and it's free. The best part is you can't see what the other picks are until after the race is over! Lawdog, who'd ya pick??
harvey lee
Iam signed up. Lawdog-I looked at the points and you dont have any.You must have picked Gordon.

eyepatrol
Okay, now that I'm signed in, what's all this "A" list, "B" list and "C" list??? I've never done this before!

JohnMickish
Quote: Okay, now that I'm signed in, what's all this "A" list, "B" list and "C" list??? A list means all of Roush's cars are good, 2 Henrick, 2 Penske and one Gibbs car is good, and a threat to win every race. Now if your on the C list that means you suck pretty bad, although they have Schrader on that list. It'll be interesting to see where he finishes up this year, now that he's got a better team.
