I just cant seem to get what I want out of the rope light,

a friend of mine had them in his lodge last year and half of the bulbs were bad by the end of the year, I used the dome lights and they are all working like new, I might have to put a set of these ropes in my sled, thats a good idea, thanks for the tip on that.

I still think this is the best info...

In my opinion.

Was on ice tonight with lights, I think they will work just great if they stay working. I noticed 4 of them went out tonight in the middle of the rope. Other wise, there is plenty of light in my Voyager. Lot more light then a lantern sitting on the ice. Lets hope no more go bad. confused.gif

I've got 2 sets of the Gander LED rope lights. I have a 6x8 suitcase portable and they light it up like a Christmas tree!Oops, can I say Christmas?Oops I said it again. Anyway,You guys need to make sure you get the LED lights not regular rope lights! B.T.W. I put in an order for those LED lights from clam on the internet and I waited 3 weeks and decided to cancle the order cuz of the gander lights and they LOST MY ORDER anyway! Funny how that works, sometimes I do get lucky.

I just put 2 sets in my Otter Lodge. If they hold up, I'm very happy. Those that want the coleman lantern should remember when you look at the darn thing, it hurts! And you get blinded for the next 5 minutes. In my pre-test, I installed one string on the overhead bar and one on the front bar. There's no pain looking up, and plenty of light for bobber watching and knot tying. Perfect. If they fail on the lake, I'll let you know. I'm powering mine with a "jumpstart pack". Reliable power for at least 20+ hours.

And if they're toast after the season, $16 bucks would just about buy the propane.

Hopeful...

Craig

The Capt, the ones the clams sell are only 3 feet long, Ganders are 6 feet, I personally have two sets of ganders in my voyager. I really like them. The light up nice at nite, I have gotten by with just 1 set. If I think I need more lite,I hook the other set up too the battery, Should have no problem tying a new knot or finding anything in the tent. grin.gif

Where did you find yours metrojoe? I couldn't find them anywhere in the cities. My parents were down in the Mankato area yesterday so I called the Gander there and they had 6 left so my dad got them all. $7.99 each plus an additional 20% off...incredibly cheap. If they don't work it's really no loss and I'm going with captkev's idea.

I was told today at the Lakeville store that they were not going to get anymore-so many people were returning them for the same reasons as stated here-work today-several burnt out the next. I really wanted to pick them up Oh Well...May have to look into that round or oval light setup. Has anyone put more than one in a single line? I'm assuming the draw would double but still be low.

Fridley had 29 of them when I called Friday morning but I'd be willing to bet half of those were gone when I got there by the afternoon. I'm a bit concerned about the durability myself. I noticed that two of the leds in the fist set I purchased were already out. I guess we'll see.

I got my two and one string is great, while the other one has about 6 leds out and the lights that work are a little dimmer in general. It should still be plenty bright though and at about $6 each I'm not going to complain.
