Deer Jerky?

Recommended Posts

No problem BC. I hope it works well for you. It usually works out pretty slick just be gentle when removing the meat from the wax paper and putting it on your screen or dehydrator so your beautiful pieces don't get ripped apart. Obviously keep the thicker pieces in longer and taste often. Let me know how they turn out. smile.gif

I used to use the wax paper method, it works, but the jerky shooter is quicker and easier. Slow down when shooting the jerky out the gun, it will make a thicker strip. If you really want a thicker strip, cut the end off your jerky gun - kind of like trimming up a caulk gun, the farther down the tip you cut it off, the bigger the bead.

Matthothand, the finished product turned out great. Only drawback was I started out too thick and had to dry it longer than I wanted to. The edges were hard but the middle was great! Next batch will be thinner and should turn out fantastic. Thanks for the help, it worked out better than I thought it would smile.gif BC
