scopes during muzzleloading season

correct me if i am wrong but this is a NO NO isnt it during the "muzzleloader" season but...is OK during the firearm season.

I seen a couple guys getting scopes mounted on muzzleloaders last night at gander??

Yes its prohibited for ML season. What I've seen a lot of guys going to now, (and what I think I'm putting on for next year) are these quick detach scope rings. They can come off for ML season and go on for shotgun season without losing their zero and with limited work. Some have the see through to the sights profile for shorter range shooting too. They seem like the cat's meow to me...

I hunt in WI and scopes are legal as long as they are 1 or 0 Power. Much easier to sight in and get on target using the normal scope rectical. This might be the case. I don't know about MN though.

I've also got the detachables so I might put on a 1.5 to 5 scope that I have lying around for normal deer season.

I've got a couple of bonus tags that need to be filled this weekend. Watch out baldies.

That's true, although you can get a permit for a non-magnified scope if you have a visual impairment. You need to complete a DNR application and get it signed by an MD, Opthamologist, or Optometrist.
