trapsht
Just wondering what size line everyone uses for perch and 'eyes? I was planning on spooling up 4' for perch and 6' on my heavier rods. What do you guys think?
upnorth
I use med lite rods for walleyes and crappies so I only use 4# line. I just think with the bait/lure just sitting there and the fish having some much time to look at it, best to go as light as I feel comfortable with. kslipsinker
I agree with (Contact US Regarding This Word). I use 2# for panfish and 4# for walleye. Minimize line when ice fishing
DaveyG
I'm more paranoid about my line snapping than about not feeling a bite. Plus, you never know when you're going to get bit by something bigger than you expected. I go 4-6 lb. test for pannies, 8-12 lb. test for walleyes, and 12-14 for northerns. zebco4040
Metro panfish = 2#Outstate Panfish = Mainly 4#Walleye = 4# & 6#I am usually concentrating on a specific species in the metro that is why the different panfish line. Outstate I am usually running and gunning so who knows what I am fishing for. I just grab a pole and drop 'er down...

Corey Bechtold
For Perch I would spool up with 3lb Micro Ice. For the Walleyes consider Fireline. That way you can feel the bites better. If you notice the fish are line shy than add a piece of florocarbon to entice the fish to strike. Good luck,Corey Bechtold
Deitz Dittrich
I'm 3Lb for panfish.. I personally like the Floroice. 6lb for walleye again Flroice!Last year the bite was a tad tough on Lake of the woods and I fished with the 3lb.. and never did loose a fish...Just a matter of playing them a little more. Mr. Pike1
I bring 10 ice poles and yes they all fit very neatly into my ice bag. This way I can cover all options with limited down time to change out jigs.2 poles with light jigs one with 2 lb berkely ice and one with 2 lb florcarbon for sunfish and perch.4 poles with 3 lb berkly ice for crappies and the eyes with smaller jigs.1 with 4 lb berkley ice2 with 4 lb fireline in smoke. Use for jigging of walleye, pike, and of course the cats on the horseshoe. This line is light and when jigging a spoon there is no give in the line for better feel of the hit and better hookset.1 with 6 lb berkley mono just for a change of pace and
Corey Bechtold
Anyone crazy enough to drop all the way down to 1lb line? I went to this last year when I had some really finicky Panfish. Only downside was trying to get the knot sinched up without breaking. Then it was Fish ON !Everyone ready to go?Corey Bechtold
