Replacement batteries

amp hours is only a measure of how long the battery will last..example..9amp draw for 1 hour, or the same battery

.5 amps for 18 hours..the only thing you have to concern your self with is the voltage..

oh and make sure you never hook your unit up to a.c.

electronics only use d.c. batterys are always d.c.

Iowaboy ..Batteries Plus is where ive picked up my dc batteries from. They sell a variety of 12volts if your lookin for different sizes.I use 18amp bats, their not light but they last me when I flyin to Canada.Youll find cheaper batteries other places but your search gets limited when looking for more than 7amp batteries..hope this helps..

Hey Guys: Fleet Farm has some for $16.95, replacement for the Vex units. They are sealed lead acid and work great for the lights. I was testing how long my 60 LED lamps would stay on, well I turned it off after two days around the clock. They didn't fade one bit. That equates to a couple of long weekends before charging... That's what I call efficiency!!! .. Kaz grin.gif

I stopped in at Northern Tool, (I think thats what its called) the other looking for something else and their battery area caught my eye. they had all different sizes of sealed gel and lead acid batterys. I'll be going there when I need my power source for the flip over lighting. however the above post got me excited when he said he has a 60 LED light string going for 48 hours on a 7amp vex battery. grin.gif

KAZ if you see this what brand of led's you using?

Tom: Sorry for the late reply. I got mine on line from a place that Paul Waldowski recommended called Super Brights. Their phone number I believe is 314 972 6200, in Missouri..They are automotive truck back-up lights.. They really give a lot of light, a little pricey at $29.00 each, but are easy to wire up. I mounted them on a 1X3 board and then use a spring clamp to attach them to the bar across the top of my Clam 2000.. Hope this helps. I think you can do a search for "Super Brights" for there web site... Kaz

Kaz, I have been looking at the HSOforum where you got those, how many do you have in your portable, I was thinking about using those as well. I have an otter lodge. Also thought about using those in my 6 1/2 by 14 house too.

Ears: I have two in my portable, which light up the two holes. I don't use them in my 7X16 because I have three deep cycle batteries and they stay up for three or four days without re-charging using two dome lights and a drop down 60watt light over the table. I also have a 1000 watt Honda generator for charging at 50amps if they get low. But as for how they work, their Great.... Kaz
