gunflint
Is the last two numbers on an Alumicraft serial number the year of manufacture? Would # ACBK2197178 be a 1978? Thanks.
0 Valv
That is correct, actually the last 2 numbers of ANY boat hull id is the year of manufacturing, regardless of what title or salesrep says.....This is since early '70s, prior to this many boats didn't have a hull id #

0 wolfwood
since that boat u have was manufatured in 1978 they would consider it a 79 I beleive
0 Valv
No Sir, that is a 1978, that's it. If somebody sold it to you saying it's a 1979 model they are lying.
0 gunflint
Probably depends if you're buying or selling. If you're buying it used, a dealer might try and tell you it's a 79. If you're trading it in, it's a 78.
0 tashit
Doesn't the number(s) before the year on the hull id identify the month it was built also? And if a boat was manufactured in say Nov or Dec of 78, wouldn't it be a 79 model year?
0 Whoaru99
Don't know about the boats, but on the equipment we manufacture, anything built July and on is considered the next model year.
